Health care
« on: February 13, 2008, 12:58:00 am »

I just lost *yet another* fortress to utterly broken health care (well, that, and a poor defense system).  This is getting frustrating.

First, dwarves should prioritize.  As in, rather than picking up a fish bone 100 tiles away, perhaps they should pick up their wounded brethren.

Second, wounded dwarves shouldn't be quite so helpless.  A dwarf with a broken arm should be able to go feed himself if no one else will feed him.

Third, the usual bug about how sometimes dwarves just won't feed the wounded.  Though in my fortress that wasn't the issue.

The answer to all health-care related issues is, of course; magma.
Same goes for nobles.

Magma would have been a pretty final solution, given as I only had a single big bedroom / dining room made of wood.  (Temporary quarters until I finished the fort, which I never did.)
