Can't have enough WH40k. It saves me from having to write plot and story.
What makes this different from other WH40k RTD's is that this will be full PvP. No NPC mooks. All of you will either be in charge of a squad or be hero/uber units. The other difference is randomization. I just decided it would be a fun idea. When you're in, first I will roll dice to determine how high your rank is in the army. For comparison:
1: Commissar with guardsmen squad, aspiring champion leading cultists...
2: Shock trooper veteran, aspiring champion leading chaos space marines...
3: Lieutenant leading several squads, assassin, psyker, khorne berserker leader...
4: Leader of several elite squads, leman russ driver, gray knight justicar, chaos predator driver, chaos terminator leader...
5: Leader of small battle force, inquisitor, chaos champion, sorceror...
6: General, armored column leader, baneblane driver, chaos lord, chaos land raider driver, greater demon...
After I roll the dice you can choose who you want to be. You can be of the aforementioned roles or something I didn't mention that's about the same strength. You can also tell me what wargear, companions and basic strategy because I will roll more dice after that.
Equipment dice: This will decide the quality of your equipment. 1 means you use boring standard issue stuff, 6 means you're mostly using artifacts and heavily modified expensive gear.
Skill dice: This will decide what special skills you have. 1 means you're a standard mook, 6 means you're one of the baddest dudes in the galaxy.
I won't roll dice for what units you command, since it would be stupid to have a general lead a small squad of guardsmen.
There won't be strict rules, the game will mostly run on the basic rule of "does it make sense".
Anyway, the war:
Terrain:
Industrial planet. Full of buildings to use as cover. Large streets and squares mean there's a lot of space for long range combat, but there are lots of buildings for cover and ambushes. Due to the war, many buildings are unstable and can easily be destroyed.
Factions:
131st Inquisition Force
An Imperial Guard force led by the Inquisition, with a lot of support from the gray knights. Typically use the standard tactics of the Imperial Guard - that is, overwhelm the opponents with lots of infantry and use the advantage of superior armour and artillery. The elite is mostly made up of gray knights and their vehicles.
Hand Of Khorne
A force of chaos space marines devoted to Khorne. While they have less armor and artillery support than their opponents, they have powerful demons and sorcery to help them win. Most of their forces are made up of chaos space marines and specialist versions of them, but the elite are mostly demons and powerful champions.

Name: Korrbyn Mournforge
Bio: An ancient warrior living only to wage war in the name of Khorne, Korrbyn and most of his squad were of the World Eaters legion when the Horus Heresy erupted. Not the most fanatical of daemon worshipers, Korrbyn is never-the-less a respected servant of Khorne, as he cares for little other than the razing of cities and spilling of blood.
This industrial world is simply the latest of many Korrbyn and his men have helped destroy, and their power armor bears the heads of many enemies on the near-countless spikes.
Their squad's symbol is a red anvil on a black background, with a black skull set into it.
