There most certainly are, but that doesn't make lesser forms of emotional and physical limitation alright. Helicopter parents, even relatively benign ones, still prevent their children from living their lives to the fullest and developing everything they need to survive in the world. Socialization doesn't just come to people naturally, it takes years of practice. If someone's children are so sheltered that they never face any sort of adversarial situation, when it inevitably happens once they've grown they won't know what to do about it.

I implanted a tracking device on every limb my child has, just incase one gets taken off. I also hired a detective agency to follow him anywhere he goes, and if anyone talks to my child without my permission I call the police on them.

I have no idea what you're doing, but if it's an attempted counter to her statement I'd suggest that you stop now.

Thats probally what I would do if I did have a kid, since I would be scared shitless as to all the bad things that could happen to him.

Yeah, I pretty much wasn't allowed out of the house until the age of 17.  It's caused a few problems.

Whereas I decided to stay mainly inside the house until age 17 in order to prevent problems. Cant say I look forwards to either of my daughters reaching thier teenage years. As a co-worker put it: "I only have to worry about my teenage son. You have to worry about everyone elses teenage sons"...

furthermore, female bullying is actually proven to be worse than male one.
As male bullies result to physical violence it is easier to frame them.
Female bullies resort to embarassment tactics which are much worse, and with the fact that usually there is the mindset of the "frail" female, you can't give them a blue eye.
Which you can however give to a male bully.

I was bullied by an 8th grade girl on the bus while in 7th grade, and a friend of mine eventually punched her in the face and gave her a black eye. It worked fairly well, she left us alone after that. Then again, she wasn't anywhere close to the mindset of the "frail" female.

My brother is unisex when it comes to dealing out against bullies.
Fell off a couple of teeths and broke an arm. I know violence is bad, but to be said the truth they had it coming.
You can't insult an overweight mass of muscles and fat because he's fat. And muscly. It's just asking for it. And he's a really nice guy, if you leave him alone it's even better.
so a young couple went to have a couple of fixes. No tribunal though. Maybe they thought it would have ended badly for them.

Yes, I would say that whilst most children don't know how to deal with bullying, the problem becomes much worse once they begin to get targeted emotionally rather than physically. I don't think this is a tactic reserved to girls, but it certainly seems to hurt more and make the target less sure of themself.

Gotta say, I've gotten way more sexual abuse and orders to change my clothing/ride my skirt up to show more legs/change my body/give my hair to charity from women than I have from men.  More straight-up physical abuse, too.

On the other hand, most of the mental abuse came from dudes.

I really don't think the gender-split is that pronounced, at least at later ages.

I think that one will most likely experience more physical abuse from your own gender and more mental abuse from the opposite one actually.
