I'm not sure if this is actually a bug or not; or if it's a bug with the utility and not DF.

I started playing around with Regional Prospector (I never manage to find HIDDEN FUN STUFF..) and looked up at the glacier areas on several maps. I can't find anything (rivers, magma, chasm, etc) under any glacier tile, or even in any regional section that has a glacier tile in it. Obviously these would be in the soil and rock layers underneath the ice, but none of those features pop up.

Is this a design decision, or are they (potentially) there and RP just doesn't pick up on 'em?

Tundra != glacier

Right. Anyway. I've seen magma in glaciers before and it's definitely possible.

Hmm okay, must just be something with RP then.

You must somehow be very very unlucky, though at the same time it's easy to miss things like magma when they're just thrown randomly to the world. Just loaded up 38a with a world made in 38a and found three spots of magma in a glacier and one spot of magma in a nearby tundra out of the total of over 100 region squares.

Magma will appear in some places, but that's just because magma can appear anywhere it bloody well wants to.

Stuff like chasms, cave rivers, and HFS only appear in mountain tiles.  Nowhere else.

Yeah, my only 38a world seems to have no MAGMA in the MOUNTAINS.  Liek srsly wtf.
