Ok, I'm impressed, but I've noticed a massive flaw in my logic/plan. There are some great things here and I like that.

Organization Problem
I didn't look far enough ahead in creating this thread. The problem is that I planned to copy and paste all of the items submitted onto the first post as organization. At the time, I did not realize that there was a 40,000 character limit per post. Thus, at some point, we will reach that character limit.

Solution ideas?

My suggestion for dealing with the character limit...assuming we ever actually hit it...and assuming you're intending to use this forum only...

Option A) Fill the first post as much as you can.  When it's full, add a post to the end of the thread continuing the first.  Add a link from the first post directly to the continuing post.  This can go on for a lot of posts.  Possibly a different post for every category of "thing" and the first post essentially being a table of contents that links to the organized posts.

Option B) Create a new thread.  Post in it ten times or so to reserve a massive amount of space.  If you need more than 400,000 characters, the forum is simply not the correct place for this list.

Now if you'll excuse me, I really think I ought to browse the entirety of the thread now.

The next few podcasts are Skeptic podcasts; they're generally worth listening to if you have time. They cover all sorts of things people get taken in by; things ranging from common myths to conspiracy theories as well as just general science.

I could keep listing more, but if you simply google 'skeptic podcast,' you can typically find quite a few good ones. Most have pretty good discussions, but quite a few also have bad audio quality, especially if you go too far back in their archives. But on the plus side, there are simply so many you can continuously listen for weeks before running through the archives of all the ones you like.

Other stuff:
http://www.popsci.com/ Popular Science; updated with science and tech news several times daily (except weekends), very up to date, usually covers science info on the same day it becomes available, making it a good place if you only want to check a single website (you can of course get news several hours faster from more specialized single-subject websites).

As for getting around the character limit, it should be sorted by topic, with each topic given it's own post, with links to those posts in the original post. Ideally you should grab an entire page or two of consecutive posts and reserve them for when they are needed (to allow for scrolling through the posts w/o going back and clicking links to each subsection).
