Seriously though, why is it so hard to get a semi-sane version of Hell running that isn't overrun by sexhavers or petty tyrants? The game has so much going for it (in any form, not to mention some of the improvements HATE had). It seems such a waste to have two versions of it up right now with neither of them being playable in the way they should. Here's to hoping that attempt #3 works out, I guess.
Now, see, I never really understood what the big deal was with sexhavers. I mean, sure, it's creepy and oftentimes rather revolting, but it's not like they really hurt anybody else. You could make the argument that they'd give new players a bad/wrong impression of the game, but really... Anyone touchy enough to get their feathers ruffled by some explicit sext is probably not going to do all that well in the dirty, gritty, brutal world of Hell anyways. Besides, picking on them has been a longstanding tradition.
As for the petty tyrants? If we're talking players, sure they're annoying... You can lose a lot of hard work to some random act of dickery from a guy who's been cheesing since before you were born. And getting singled out for the brutal attentions of some almighty wanksmoothie is never exactly great fun (except for when it's done in a hilarious fashion, in which case it is). I wound up as a whipping boy fairly often, thanks to my bizarre and proudly voiced opinions and my utter ineptitude at anything combat-oriented. Can't say I particularly *liked* getting ganked like that, but I got used to it to the point of accepting it, and I eventually came to see it as a part of Hell, and something the game just wouldn't be the same without.
If you're talking about the petty administrator tyrants, then yes, I agree wholeheartedly. That's the kind of absolute power that can be massively abused and you can't do a damned thing about it when it is. *That* I don't like.
