Excellent Speeches Today in the U.S. Senate
« on: July 14, 2011, 02:08:15 pm »

The Democrats are at their most eloquent and I think some of the Republicans are ready to start work on a budget and are trying to bring the rest of the party around without splintering it. I really hope they at least raise the debt limit in time. Jeff Sessions (R) seems to be leading the group willing more to compromise rather than forcing a default, and I'm rooting for him.

EDIT: I can agree with a balanced budget amendment (I think) as long as it's done correctly.

EDIT2: Hmm, or am I wrong and did they block some sort of emergency budget with that?

EDIT3: Well, Sessions voted against the people I thought he was siding with, so unfortunately it was politics as usual probably.
