I think I found a, uh, bit of a bug. This is on the new version; getting to the forest area caused anything below that line to glitch out and I took around 3 damage the first time getting there.

Yeah, just realized that afterward.

Installed to my downlaods folder, still didnt save. i tried it on an admina ccount and it saved, but it doesnt for a non-admin. could you make the save files a folder to go into? so the game can save and load the game out of a folder? that could avoid the problem altogether.

When will indies figure out that portable apps are the answer?  Damn installers leaving garbage all over the place.

Really, when will everyone find out that this is the answer?
For projects such as this, for college, ect. it makes sense to do whatever is easiest to make a good game.

If it's a commercial endeavor, however, a portable app offers several advantages. It's easy to run and I know I'm a lot more likely to show it to other people if I can just pop it into any computer and play it.

The new build is up!------->https://www.digipen.edu/?id=1170&proj=24629

To re-iterate the following fixes have been added:
1. Vacuum crash fixed
2. Loss of Water/Lava Resistance upon save/load fixed
3. Dig straight key. Makes player dig sideways without stepping up terrain. defaulted to SHIFT (all keys can be customized from the options menu)

Weird thing is that I don't get a crash when I vacuum to the right hand side of the screen (even at the edge with the vacuum off-screen).
Most likely you've downloaded the newest version in which it is fixed!

For some reason my game didnt get saved even though i pressed the save button.
I assume the problem is coming from when we thought it wise to only allow saving when standing on solid ground. However when a player attempts to save but cannot there is no onscreen message such as "Cannot Save. Stand on ground" so it just appears to be broken. We didn't want players jumping from a deathly height and saving just before they hit the ground there by creating a cursed profile. But it seems we've lifted that restriction, for better or worse. Messing around with the save button in the new build a bit, I was able to save every time. Download the newest version and see if the problem still persists. If it does please provide any instructions that would allow us to replicate the bug.

Enjoy!

Woo.  Cool that this is still being worked on.

Your best bet would be to ask that on their forums if they have one, that is a very technical question that few on this forum would invest much time finding out.

To be fair, on Windows 7, I have a folder in the root of my Z:\ (not tagged as a system drive/etc.) but I think because it's in the root of that drive Windows keeps giving me permission errors when I run updates, etc.

We've gotten a few more reports about the win7 save problem and we're looking into a workaround.

Sorry for the issues.
