Dig-N-Rig: Digging! Robots! Conveyor belts! ASCII!

Dig-N-Rig is a pretty neat ASCII sidescroller where you are a little robot that has to dig all the way down to the Earth's core.  On the way down, you have to build conveyor belts to transport the minerals you find back to the lab, where you can buy upgrades for your little robot such as new drills, jetpack, dynamite, the works.

Here's a little link to the article and video on Indiegames.com: Dig-N-Rig

I'll update this post with my impression.

Download link for the game

[Edit]
Nice game. The graphics are enjoyable, the music is 8-bits and the gameplay is quite good, but a bit repetitive.

Something about this game makes me wonder why God lets it exist.
Say, if you give birth on a ranch and then murder your baby will a corpse drop be guaranteed?

S'pretty neat, though I managed to lose 90% of my health and crash the game shortly thereafter within about 10-15 min of play :P

Might want to be careful with the vac while close to the extreme right of the map.

yeahh, I ran into the crash on vacuuming the extreme right. Wish scoops, the vertical belts, were less expensive. I can only see them being useful, tbh

Did a bit more, being careful to leave the right alone. There's now about two screens worth of empty space, barring a small bit on the right. Strip mining~

I'm curious as to what happens in the end, if there is any end. So far, things seem to be pretty horrific -- vicious, obviously unsustainable strip mining and resource exploitation mixed with violent reaction to native life. Plus your lab is sitting on this little bit of protruding land over a vast, robot-made abyss.

I could totally see this riffing on anti-extreme capitalism/manifest destiny after everything (i.e. the lab) comes crashing down.

Well that was entertaining. I crashed as well though I was nowhere near the right side of the screen, I think I was messing around with the vacuum. Unfortunately I hadn't saved, so I lost all progress.. I was pretty far down.

I dug out almost every single bit of soil, including the moon and stars, and nothing came crashing down.  If you reach the end, you can start over while keeping all your tool upgrades and continue to upgrade them over and over and over.

Pretty fun, but not very hard.  One of the first upgrades pretty much removes all danger from water or lava before you even encounter it.

I got as far as the mole city before seeing any moles.  Promptly wasted all my life (and progress) trying to shoot them.
