Spoiler: Chaos (click to show/hide)

I'd gladly replay this fight, because mistakes were plentiful (as always) but it's a LP. Ironman!
The update was supposed to be longer, but i had to cut it short. I'll toss another one later today.

Oh man, if you hadn't clicked "continue battle" you wouldn't have lost that insanely baddass general.

Also, this is why you don't leave archers on fire at will :y

Aye, i got a bit overexcited at the end there. Normally i manually control all ranged fire, but this one was in the bag already and..
The funny / sad thing is, i was just moving this general away from the enemies, so that he won't die to random slingshots.   :)

Aye, i am the god of friendly-fire general kills. Not many people worship me.. I wonder why?

Edit : The music was fitting, i hope? Didn't have much time to edit the fight, so i left it uncut for the most part (except initial positioning and what happened after continue button click and before FF kill.)

no, never play like a dumbass against him :P . All Rome had to do to win in this battle was keep formation and roflstomp the Spanish infantry position. Less than 200 cavalry, of which 60% were complete shit, were not worth them amount of chasing the Romans put in.

I think it's pretty clear Stworca is actually a highly-advanced AI designed by the military by now.

Pure lies. If he were, said military would have conquered the world ages ago. With packs of naked swordsmen.  :P

That general is like general Patton who are so badass at war, and than instantly died due to such stupid causes after victory. This should be made into a movie.

If They did not split up, we'd hardly have a chance, but what might surprise you (it surprised me) is that some online players are also very bait-vulnerable ("Hey, look, a round shield cav unit! LET'S SEND OUR ENTIRE CAV FORCE!"). What Romans (player) should've done is keep ze cav in two blobs, and slowly advance infantry in an open C formation. There would be no way in hell for anything better than crushing defeat.

Unless.. (Since we're theorycrafting anyway) i placed my army as close to the middle-right edge of the screen, and curbstomped Scipii reinforcements before SPQR army gets to me. Some Scipii units would rout towards the SPQR effectively lowering their morale as well. To be completely honest i first wanted to do it that way, but the terrain on that particular battlefield was very tough for such a tactic to work. (SPQR would have a slightly higher ground, which could screw me over)

Were it an online battle though, i'd have a reliable Long shield (They are worse than most cav, but are decent in charge and quite cheap for 10k battles) / Fanatics / Bulls / Slingers (They cost 120.. 120! It's NOTHING!) army  :) I have a Spain v Urbans replay somewhere..

Update on the way. P2 of siege of Capua, or rather.. the Aftermath. Stay tuned.

A poll has been added. Quite an important one too. I'm asking everyone to vote (pretty please, with a Gallic city on top?)
Don't be afraid to select the "Other" option. If an idea will be exceptionally good, we'll implement it as well. Just please don't ask for withdrawing back to 1 province or anything alike. The result would be me getting sick of the campaign, having to fight 20 full stack battles per turn. (at this moment i disable the game whenever i have more than 2 big battles in one sitting.. So far i'm still willing to play)

If you feel like it, leave a message, criticizing our progress, and suggesting an improvement.

Regards

Conquer the world, the AI sucks too much to live.

Also, in that video I lol'd when you lost a general right after clicking "continue battle"

I seriously doubt the AI stands any kind of chance at this point - seriously, it seems like they're too focused on killing you to bother capturing rebel cities. That doesn't bode well for their future success, assuming they fail to take any of yours, either.   ;)

So, yeah. Either give them a few more turns to build up, or just end it now. I'd at least like to see a few post-reform battles, but if you can crush even the best of the Roman forces, I doubt anything will be standing in your way.

I predict that them Romans will dish out some reform units soon.
If not, we'll just stage a few custom battles.

Edit : Well, balls, my headphones stopped working. :P
