How're you doing at multiplayer? I heard that people online aren't much better at the game then the A.I. :P Perhaps you could post a vid with you doing a multiplayer battle as well?
That I want to see :D

I'm not sure if it was just my luck with the hours, or something else, but there were like 10 people online  :-\
Naturally everyone and their mom play on 10k denarii with Urbans / Praetorian cav / Archers.

Now. The only battle that should interest the viewers is :
Enemy : Julii. 6 urban, 4 archer aux, 3 praetorian cav
Me.. *drums* Spain 4 bull, 4 fanatics, 4 slingers, 6 long shield.
Result : Crushing victory with nearly no losses.
Observation : On 10k denari archer aux is a bit of a waste, unless you play defensively.. Which people who have Urbans and see Spain across the field tend to not do.

The tactic was obvious, and the enemy general was a.. Yes.
There are some amazing RTW online players (like the PoM) but i had no luck in finding anyone that would rise above the AI too much.

Now that's something I would definitely like to see, Stworca versus POM.

I can show off the Spain v Rome battle, but with the complete and total lack of any strategy other than "Uhh.. my units are better! RIGHT CLICK" it's not much to see. I'd rather leave this LP just for LP-related stuff, and something tells me that the AI romans will be tougher than.. no, you're not getting a name from me.
Then again, only multiplayer battles allow easy movie capture and editing (combat replay option)

In unrelated news : The next update will be cavalry special (aside from other things) because the damn AI attacked two of our mini-forces that were all-cav.
By mini forces i mean.. German army attacks ONE round shield group that was heading to reinforce me. (there is just no way in hell that we can pull a victory there. Simply impossible. But it's also impossible for me to click "Withdraw".. so..)
Numidians attack our generals, with our infantry lagging behind in the desert.

Let me compile them movies! Oi!

Hmm. So there's at least two victories in the next update. Both with full cavalry units.

Not exactly..

I'm an honest person, and by saying "There is no way in hell we can win", i do mean it. If someone can prove me wrong - after you see ze update - i'll be impressed.
Also, when i say "one round shield cav unit", i do mean one round shield cav unit  :)

I had some xvid codec difficulties, thus it may take a while longer. Patience (Imoen), soon it will all end.

Well, yes. Full cavalry as in not with infantry and archers.

And yes, it's only one round shield, but you'll still win, right?

Right?

Stworca, amazing LP. I know you have said you are sick of the TW series, but I think we all want to see you do an LP with ReallyBadAI using the worst faction and hardest settings. Certainly working up to that would be appropriate if the AI is really that good.

For the encirclement?  :o

Great video. I love TW, and strategy and all that, I but I've got to say I can't do anything like that. It's a good battle if I play and keep half my troops with a victory.

What exactly seems to be the problem? You get encircled? Can't encircle enemies? Face too many? I'm sure we (viewers and me) can help you out.

Also : Yes, i'm working on the update just now. Editing them screenshots and stuff  :o

I was like that too at first, I usually just made infantry blobs and tossed them at the enemy(yes, stupid I know) but I couldn't seem to do anything else that was more effective. Then one day when playing I actuilly managed to do a half decent manuever, almost on accident, was like a light bulb popped up over my head. Sometimes it just takes a kick in the pants or luck to get you thinking about how to play right.

Yeah, I'm pretty good at thinking about it abstractly, doing it is harder.
