Well, BI does have more fun (as in your economy will always be on the verge of failure, massive hordes will wander the land and attempt to kill you, any useful mercenaries will cost to much etc).

But ultimately it's the same game. I doubt i'll be bothering with any Total War game after this LP. There are many other good games.

Now, we know which factions are ze weakest, but what is your opinion on the easiest ones?

Personally, i'd give the crown to either Greeks (You can NOT lose against the AI as Greeks.. it's not possible..) or Brutii (The best defensive-wise position on the Shoe, weakest enemies surrounding it, the temple of "I-Win")

Your thoughts?

I'd say macedon might actually be easier than the Greeks unit wise. Also, Egypt is a cakewalk. Although what are the worst factions in BI?

Are there any mods improving AI? It looks like grouping all the units in a giant blob will give better effects than AI "maneuvers"  :P
The Medieval II mod called ReallyBadAI makes the AI insanely hard in comparison to anything it was like before. Almost on par with a player.

Once you get their uber-long-reach phalanx, Seleucia is really really easy. Their spears have longer reach than even the Spartans.

Up until then... well, you still get regular phalanx units, and some moderate-good cavalry. And super-easy access to motherfucking Cretan Archers.

Brutii are definitely the easiest, by virtue of A) being Roman and B) having the delicious, rich, wonder-filled Greek World as their target. I was rather surprised to find out the Scipii are out-competing the Brutii, especially since you hold Carthage. The Greeks can be tricky to play as since they get invaded by just about everybody at game start (excepting Selucia/Egypt and their eternal war,) but they are definitely in the top 5.

But yeah, the reason I don't just play Total War games all the time is because the tactical AI is terrible, and since the Autobattle is a crapshoot my Autobattle Only challenges tend to end after a particularly stupefying loss.

Don't worry, just borrow it from a friend. It doesn't even need a cd key.

Macedon steamrolls everything in there, Brutii couldn't break them yet. It will happen eventually. Roman cities are at 24000 already (or should be at least.. i need a spy!)

Huh. In my current game (Scythians) Macedonians are down to a single province, surrounded by my land. Technically, I'm allied with them, and I'm at war with basically everyone else now, so I can't be bothered squishing them just yet.

Greeks have taken all of the Macedon lands and Brutii got blocked from landing.

Did you help out the other factions with that? Also, I find the seleucids to be quite chaotic to manage at the start, but after that with Silver pikemen, legionnaires, cataphracts, elephants and chariots you'll destroy just about everything.

Only wars I've been in have been with Armenia (Thanks Macedon!), Germania (turn after they sent a diplomat, not to negotiate a ceasefire, but to negotiate a mutual non-aggression treaty.), Dacia (wiped out) and Thrace (wiped out). Greece just declared war on us to be dicks. Complete with full stacks of armoured hoplites. Which means I have to use mercenaries to break up the phalanxes and then use my cavalry archers to rout them with numbers.
