Wardogs have some uses.

- They are good against missile cav.
- They are casualties-proof (the dogs will always respawn, as long as the trainers are alive)
- Dogs never rout
They are the perfect engaging tool.

However..
- No target changing at ALL
- Terrible against anything that is not made of paper.
- Trainers rout when hit by a wet towel.

So, dogs alone are the very bottom of the ladder (except peasants, obviously)
But dogs who engage targets so that warcry Fanatics can charge their flanks and lose less warriors? Very nice, useful unit.

Edit : Kudos to Akigagak for the Flaming Pigs :P

It's not a cliffhanger if we know you're going to curb-stomp them.

Wardogs cause humongous morale hits (they're friggin' terrifying!). This alone makes them one of my most beloved units, the 2 turn recruit time makes them one of my most unused units. I LOVE USING DOGS.

Of course, I haven't played against very hard AI, so maybe they don't work so well there.  :'(

Aye, They still break the morale of weak units. Another PRO for using dogs! But Chosen Swordsmen / Spartans / Terminator Cohort will not even drop below Eager.

2 Turn recruit time is an obvious CON, however, They have low upkeep and don't take much population. Small backwater towns can build some dogs, when ze pop or cash are low.

The next update is nearly ready, but ze vid upload will take a while. It's shortened to show only sweet stuff, and.. we encircle and outmaneuver the hell out of enemy general, like never encircled before! So it's worth the wait, sneaky viewers! No music, once again.. I keep forgetting about it  ::)

Stworca, you're battle tactics seem to consist of flanking traps to kill tons of enemies, and morale destroyers so you can make the enemy rout.  Any battle tips for the Julii faction ( which I'm playing, and failing, as )?

See: it's hard believing you when you say Spain is so godamn hard when all we see are crushing victories. Nice update tough, and I liked the video.

We are fielding elite units (well, Spanish elite..) while the enemies are still far away from their top tier. There will be battles, where.. remember the fight with Dacia? Yeah.. that kind of fights.

I recommend watching one of the video LP's on youtube, plenty of people play as Julii, some even know what They're doing. A few pointers though :

- Hold the line as infantry, unless there is a golden opportunity
- Take your sweet time, unless there is a golden opportunity
- Javelin and Arrow the shit out of barbarians
- Always minimize casualties. If you can take an enemy units with three of your own, instead of two, use three.
- Morale wins this game. Unless you face terminator spartans / berserkers / chosen
..Yeah.

Don't jinx us!

Once we destroy a few (FOUR) factions, which? You can already guess. We'll proceed with the next step of "Let's turn this campaign into hell" project.

A poll has been added.

Note that i haven't included factions such as Greece, Armenia, Seleucid etc. because at this moment ALL of them are doing dirt poor, and even with cheats they have a chance of being annihilated.

Germany, Macedon, Spain, Scipii, Egypt are the top 5 factions.
Then it's Brutii and Julii.

Then everyone else. Aka nobody else matters.

Well, let us march to these Macedonians, their pointy sticks won't last long against our.... erm.... moderately abysmal units! (Also their starting cities are awesome).

Are there any mods improving AI? It looks like grouping all the units in a giant blob will give better effects than AI "maneuvers"  :P

Macedon won't be hard to beat because the AI can't use phalanx.

Roman AI isn't too bad.. Or maybe it's because Roman units are uber..

Aside from that, AI plays well when They have 3000 heavy cavalry and chariots or outnumber you like Britain did, when all They need to do is right click you.

But yeah, the AI has proven to be dirt poor, hence the VH difficulty. Damage helps their maneuvering...
I guess i'll have to play BI after all. The AI was better there iirc.
