I'll fix the latest status, but you already have one of your 3 remaining ships floating from a month ago.

Start training archers-they become hunters and help support the tribe by gathering food, and can aid in defense when the time comes.

My plan is to make the main fortress on this island be in the snowy montians and also make a sea and quarry over look station on the hex overlooking the quarry on the cliff. I want to start building the over look now withtwo modest houses and a watch tower.

Hold funeral services for the deceased miner, and convert the mined-out area of the quarry into catacombs. Also, send scouts to look for copper and tin deposits. We need to arm ourselves.

There is a deposit of copper and tin in the hills on the far side of the island marked with a shovel and pick symbol.

Any nickle? We should have requested a metallurgist or alchemist from the homeland.

If I were to have a captain, I could do that.

PyruDesu, if you plan to stick around, go ahead and create a captain. Best reason I can think of at the moment would be if he was ill or injured when the 3 ships have to leave. Otherwise, would have to retcon you in somehow.

Will update today for sure, aiming for my lunch break but it could be later.

Captain Raset had to be left behind as he was stricken ill before the departure of his comrades sail away from the colony. He may as well make himself useful when he recovers.

Labors: Metallurgy, Metalworking, Sailor

I say my captain goes with some scouts to find any other metals in the known area.

On irrigation: The stream could be damned, flooding a tile and sluice gates could be used to release the water into the fields.

10 masons work on the breakwater, it is nearly half way complete by the end of the month.

Thamos, 10 carpenters and 5 colonists work on building houses on the plains, finishing 3.

9 woodcutters harvest lumber bringing in 29 logs.

8 miners quarry for stone producing 44.

Farmers produce 118 food.

Fisherment split with 4 working the trap line and 4 taking out a canoe to the deep water, producing 22 food combined.

Setos prepares and wraps the dead man for burial with the assistance of his accolytes and sees to all the funeral rights required to keep is soul from wandering. With less than a month left, he takes 10 colonists across the plain and picks through the mineral site the scouts had reported. Without a mine the process is difficult, but they manage to dig out 11 copper and 3 tin ore.

Captain Raset and scouts search for metals, after picking through dozens of rock piles in the hills and mountains, they make their way back down to the stream and begins panning the river and finds trace amounts of gold near the source at the stream cave. It isn't enough to make an industry out of. Searching farther in he discovers that the cave continues far beneath the surface, but is flooded and there is no way  explore further without light or air. From the swimming and cooling weather he takes ill for a while and is unable to return with his ship.

The 3 supply ships complete their repairs and and leave without Captain Raset to get out before winter sets in.

Captain Harnki mounts an expedition into the mountains as the air turns crisp and cool, taking a contingent of 14 colonists armed mostly with hammers. They rush to complete their houses as an early snow falls in these far mountains. Fortunately the houses are finished, but at a high cost. 2 colonists are grievously ill from frostbite and will take approximately 2 months to fully recover.

Rahotep begins training 10 sailors as archers, though with little skill beyond the tactics he has to rely on the guards with what training they have. 2 manage to take to the training and they end up using enough arrows to cost 7 wood and resulting in 1 injury.

10 idle guards take axes to one of the ship and break it apart.

Captain Raset begins to pick over the site where copper and tin are, so as to see if anything else lies buried there, after he has recovered, of course.

Note: I apparently miscounted the number of colonists, it is actually 155 currently instead of the 150 I had thought.

Unfortunately for the farmers, the weather has turned cold a little early this year and they were unable to gather all their crops before they were ruined by frost. They only produced 60 food this month.

In order to provide shelter from the coming harsh winter captain Thamos rallies as many colonists as he can in order to complete housing at the site. He, 10 carpenters 16 colonists with the 20 hammers construct 4 modest homes on the plains. There are homes enough for 120 of the 155 colonists.

9 woodcutters 10 colonists and 1 sailor take the 20 axes to harvest lumber from the nearby woods, producing 56 wood.

Raset takes 5 scouts, 8 miners and 6 sailors with 20 picks to the mining site, producing 21 copper ore and 5 tin ore. This site doesn't have more to offer than copper or tin.

Without significant direction, the 8 fishermen and a sailor split between the fish traps and the deep fishing site and produce 17 food combined.

The 10 masons continue their work on the breakwater, it is now roughly 2/3rds complete.

The guards continue a standard patrol around the most active parts of the colony. While patrolling the woods where the woodcutters are active, they stumbles upon a trap, one of the guards falls into a hidden pit and is severely injured with a broken leg, with some luck he may recover by spring. The digging looked fresh, as though the trap was made recently and none of the colonists know who or what made it.

The two frostbitten colonists slowly recover and should be well after another month of rest.

The days become shorter and the nights longer and colder. Frost comes to the lowlands where you had previously seen it only in the high mountains. This could be a harsh winter.
