The captain was proud of the bridge. This land needed more good Ra-man archithecture!

Captain Rahotep began training the sailors in simple squad tactics-for now they would use baling hooks, cutlery knives, wooden clubs and whatever other weapons that could scavenge from the ship and area. They would need hunters, and warriors, soon enough

Wooden clubs and wooden spears can be crafted easily enough without a workshop.

I will allow some training without the appropriate buildings if people who have relevant labors do the training. Rahotep,  Harnki and the guards can potentially train guards, the scouts can train more scouts, carpenters could train more carpenters and the sailors could train more sailors. Though in each case, it takes extra workers out of the labor pool, will be less effective and potentially dangerous to train without proper facilities.

Also, looking back over my buildings the hunters lodge seems way to expensive in retrospect. I am amending its cost down to 20 wood.

Farming went well, producing 117 food, making this the first month that more food has been produced than consumed.

Rahotep and Harnki along with a few guards begin training 10 of the sailors in basic combat. The first step was to get them to construct wooden clubs to use in training instead of the more deadly bronze weapons currently available. Considering the lack of facilities, things went well, 3 sailors took to their training, 2 were injured and will be recovering next month and the other 5 made no progress.

Setos performs a death watch over the injured and ill, the god of death has stayed his hand for another month, obviously thanks to his prayers. The 3 colonists and 2 sailors that fell ill last month make a successful recover.

Thamos takes command of a squad of 10 carpenters and 5 colonists and work tirelessly through the month and manages to get 2 modest houses constructed.

The remaining 7 guards, 4 sailors and 9 colonists take to the Forrest with axes to gather lumber and bring in 45 logs.

In the forest they come across signs of freshly killed and butchered game, while this forest is sparse compared to the one to the west, it looks like someone else is on the island and hunting nearby.

Your scouts apparently got lost in the woods to the west and made very little progress.

We'll need to build some fish traps to improve our food stores. Also, the signs of heathens worry me. I'll take the time to bless each weapon to instill them with the power of Death.

Put the guards on routine patrols on the perimeter looking out for danger.

While your people enjoy the summer heat as a reminder of their homeland, it does not treat your crops quite as favorably. Your farms produce 91 food this month.

In an attempt at making sure that housing is made available, an all out effort is made to build modest homes on the plains.  Rahotep, Harnki Thamos, 10 carpenters, 11 sailors and 17 untrained colonists put in the effort to get buildings up and running. 5 homes are constructed.

Setos performs his blessing rituals and helps put the minds of the people at ease. Between this and the construction of homes, morale of the colony remains high.

The 13 guards take up a mixture of spears and bows and perform patrol the local area. No signs of contact are reported.

Scouts head back east along the shore line as far as they can go, the sand dunes give way to cliff faces and large boulders shortly past the partially constructed quarry sight. They continue to explore the mountains in the area. They do not spot any signs of civilization in the area.

The spears provide a bonus to fishing and can be used from shore or small boats. The bonus for fishing out in the marked area is larger than the bonus of a skilled fisherman with the right tools. One of your beached ships could be launched to fish at the marked areas, but the entire shore has at least some potential for fishing.

By fish trap, do you mean something like a fence that fish in shallow water are herded against? or a baited line? or nets for trawling?

Fence nets that force fish into a holding area with the change of tides.

Carve out more cave dwellings at the quarry site, write up plans for a water-break to wall off a safe harbor.

This game dead? Cause it looks great so far.

My 2 cents on what you should do if it isn't dead:

More housing, start walling off a harbor. And try to float one of the ships.
