I think that one of the problems with the BM's is that they allow players in who can't be fairly classified as "beginners" in the strictest sense. On top of the already present IC's, it often seems that these players can dominate the game. They all know each other, so they know what to look for, while the new players often get lynched for making new player mistakes. I know people try to limit this tendency, but it still happens. In a lot of the games I've seen, it has turned into either two veterans going back and forth with each other, or a veteran going against a newbie. It also seems that we lose most of the players who join BM's, possibly for this exact reason. The new players get lost in the crowd of veterans. That's one of the benefits I had going into my first BM: three of the remaining seven players were entirely new to the game, including myself. I think the games need to run with a higher percentage of truly new of inexperienced players in the future, at least four. Because otherwise they seem to get lost in the crowd.

Should a game limit or something similar be enforced? An example is requiring a certain amount of players who have played less than ~5 games.

So now that beginner's mafia is ended, should another one be popping up soon, or is it more of an organic sort of thing?

It's more organic that there will always be a new BM after the last one has ended. We just need one person to cultivate or 'moderate', as some prefer to say, the 'thread', as some prefer to say.

Not me, one hella complicated game is enough for me right now.

Would I still count as a beginner or not, then? I don't think I've been through 5 games, yet.

I think that what would be a better judge of that is whether or not you've won as both sides.

yes you've been through five games.

Three bm's

KotM

Wuba's last game

CYOM

GBU

TGBOO

And probably another I'm forgetting

That's seven.

And you've won all but... two of them, I think.  And one was because of a conversion effect.

I've had an account here for a while because I play Liberal Crime Squad.  I thought I had posted in the relevant forum once or twice, though.  Was kinda surprised to find that I had no posts.

It'sobviously just you though. The name gives it away.

If you say so Nerjin.  Why don't you check my signature for my mafia experience.  Or why don't you google my username.  Nobody goes to THAT kind of length to fake an alt.

wat xD
No it's just that before his post back there, I was checked the posts he did (in which my first idea...well, suspicion was the WTF  thread > general discussion that the wording was phrased like one of the many alt//advertising or bot-whatever accounts...no offense...) and found them...sincere-ish?

...That, or it just lacked detail that I didn't get why it was WTF-y.

Also really now? The name? Do tell. :3
Also hi Nerjin, long time no see

Well, if it means we have another person to join us, I'm happy.
