Edit: on second thought, after read-through of the unpleasant and largely pointless back-and-forth obfuscating bitching that went on in the Yu-Gi-Oh Mafia game, I'm out. This is definitely not the forum game for me.

Yeahh, that thing was kinda... toxic. I'm hoping this coming game proves less so... I've read through the Notable Games Archive; I've seen games that were clever and civil and interesting. I know it's possible.

That game is not meant to signify this forum's Mafia capacity. By any means.

Let's just list off why not...
-Bastard Mod, without signing up for one
-HEAVILY ability dependant
-Starting mix was 3/1/6 Scum/"Rogue"/Town, a hard game for Town to win
-"Rogue" is in quotes because he was Town, but he couldn't win if his target (Me) still lived.
-At least 4 AFK people jumping out a window kills games QUICK.

So tensions were high, people got angry, things were said, yeah.

I hope that this coming Proc Gen game is more representative of the forum's Mafia games.

To answer you question, it usually results in lots of analysis of previous statements and referencing things people have said before.

As for the scum teams, we usually have a quicktopic set up for them so they can speak privately without any of the other players seeing what they say.

I suggest looking over a few of the previous Beginner's Mafias. It'll give you a good idea of how the forum version of Mafia works.
