Reading a couple recent games is a good idea, but more from a style and convention standpoint so that you know what you're getting in to.  Don't worry about meta arguments until you've got a couple games under your belt.

Well, I won't REALLY know what I'm getting myself into until after my first few games, but I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be.

I find it interesting that a SK essentially had the same effect that a vig would have had.

The scum tried to do that to me in the recent Totem Mafia game, but that was mostly a result of me being bad at knowing when not to shoot.

Not super common, but you'll catch suspicion, especially if you've been trigger-happy.  If you shoot targets that follow your stated suspicions and explain yourself when you do claim, you'll probably be trusted enough.

Lynches on claimed vigs are pretty rare, providing they don't kill obviously town players or go against what the town tells them to do.  This is because:

a) they are guaranteed to not be mafia, and a mafia lynch is far preferable to an SK lynch in almost all cases
b) an SK forced to do the town's bidding isn't really that different to a claimed vig if the town has some room to breath, and if the town doesn't have room to breath then they probably need a mafia rather than an SK lynch anyway

And on the last day the claimed vig will pretty much always be lynched if the game should have ended the night before.  In other words it'd be difficult to win as SK if you decide to claim vig.

On the other hand though it might be worth lynching the players you're suspicious of just so you can support a vigilante claim if you need to...

I distinctly remember that. Paranormal 15 is actually the first game I read on this forum, and it's the reason I joined up to play here.

At the time, I had no idea why you would expend a plasma bomb on a single player. Now it makes total sense.
