I'd just like to say that I know how to use an empty prescription bottle with deadly efficiency because I sat in my room this one time and pretended to hurt people with it. Now I'm a master too, thanks to the River City Ransom improvised-weapon DVD program.
Must be one imaginative program! You didn't even have to test it out on actual people! ;D

And thanks for the shiv idea Grimshot, I'll try it out.

Hm, have you considered murder?  It's either that or letting it go.

3 Katanas, 2 Wakizashi, 4 throwing knives, 2 pocket knives, and various training swords are all strewn about my bedroom (Mostly where the daughter can't reach, but once in a while she surprises me with a shinai.) To be honest, though, I prefer to use my elbows and knees.

Underpants, even when sleeping after snugglin' with the GF.  I find that the added support is nice and comfy for sleep.

Staying over at her folks' place, pajama pants + optional shirt.  :|  Her parents don't need to see me in boxers.

Alternatively, you could just dispense with the idea of having makeshift weaponry in your bedroom, because in most situations where you'd have to use it, it would be very likely to not help you at all, or actually cause you greater harm than would otherwise happen. Not that a situation like that is remotely likely to begin with.

Silly British, trying to trick the Americans. We all know you also wear pyjamas. This time, you're the one who are bananas around here.

Also, my first line of defense is to not dress up as a banana.

Fluorescent Tubes won't do shit to anybody, by the way. I've handled plenty of them around the theatre here. I'm not sure where you would get the idea that they are going to turn into shivs when you smash them.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

Most glass is designed not to be deadly when you shatter it, yeah.  Like break into really little fragments.

In any case, this would have to be a burglar that breaks into your room, wakes you up, then waits for you to get your bearings, work out what's happening then grab a fluorescant tube from the ceiling.

Someone once tried to steal my 50" DLP tv by themselves. It weighs like, 120lbs. I did, however, have time to wake up, panic, and run out to the living room to see this fellow trying to take my tv, and failing miserably at it.

`Hey buddy, you need a hand?`
`Aw thanks man, this thing weighs a ton.`

I can picture him standing, watching with a really concerned/distressed face while silently following the guy struggling with the TV back to his house. In reality the guy would drop the TV and just run, but it's funnier to think he'd just keep trying unless someone physically stopped him.

That...was actually the case. See, I'm just barely 5 feet tall, and he was just shy of 6 feet. He saw me come in the room, laughed, and then started cussing me out because he thought I wouldn't fight him. I promptly snapped his forearm with a roundhouse kick (it's a good thing he got his arms up, too. I was trying to decapitate him,) and calmly called the police to take the poor bastard away. Poor guy had three minutes between me hanging up the phone and the cops showing up of one merciless beating with a crowbar.

...I'm such a bastard.  :-\

Okay, the three minutes of beatdown were probably a bit of overkill, but the first part with the kick was hilarious.
