It depends on the temperature, but I tend to just sleep in my underwear and shirt. I do wear oversized lounge pants when I sleep sometimes, if you count that as pajamas. Now if you mean something like:

then no, never.

There is of course the potential of just sleeping naked, but it almost never gets hot enough in North Carolina to warrant that.

I also tend to accidentally fall asleep in whatever I happen to have been wearing, or just not care enough to bother getting up to take off my jeans, which are comfortable to sleep in anyway.

I think the movies show people wearing pajamas more often than they do in reality.  It lets the movies avoid nudity.

But then the movies affect the way actual people live-- and so, yeah, lots of Americans do wear pajamas.  Not all though.

I used to wear them in the winter, but as of late i just go in my underwear or in a pair of shorts, don't want to try sleeping butt naked yet, seeing as i live with my folks still and i usually go trough the living room to get to the bathroom in the morning X)

I also used to sleep totally naked, but now I sleep without the cover cause it is summer so I can't go naked lol.

I'm European, but I wear underpants + t-shirt. Never really liked sleeping nude or even without a shirt, really.

Whatever I'm wearing at the time I fall asleep. That usually amounts to jeans, shirt, sandals and a jacket in the winter.

 I cannot sleep in the nude though, I really hate the feeling of sheets on my skin. I can see a market for people who want to sleep with lighter clothes on but dislike skin sheet contact. And pajama pants that are worn more around the house than in bed.
