What more do you need?

(( I know I was refering to you asking why I didn't mess with the world's affairs, and thats because Asgard had specific ideals worked into him by his mom, and now he wanted to protect the child also what does the paper say ? ))

Bahat nodded. Food barrels were generally heavy, but Strife seemed to be in good shape. She couldn't have afforded to pay too much for their transport to the caravan in any case.

'I think we should head for the harbor. I need to buy fish for our animals.'

The main road, leading down the hill towards the water, was cobblestone. Bahat was thankful for getting out of the mud of the side streets. The roadsides were packed full of carts, market stalls and their owners, worthless baubles and ornaments laid upon thick eastern carpets. A hundred different scents and spices assaulted their senses, and a hundred different merchants and salesmen all bellowed to and pleaded with customers. Bahat scanned the stalls for any real talismans or amulets she could use, but nothing catched her eye. Some merchants kept barrels around the back full of so-called 'rare magical artifacts', drawing ludicrous prices from worthless fakes. She couldn't have afforded anything in any case.

The street was crowded, and it was easy to get lost in it. Most there were preoccupied with the market, and she walked past largely unnoticed. Her clothes or shaved head didn't stick out in the mass of people from all corners of the world. She could've named a hundred different ethnicities present, and not all of them even human. Pickpockets moved quickly through the market stalls and carts. Patrols of the city guard moved slowly through the crowd, scanning the market for any trouble. It looked like they were expecting it. Bahat vaguely remembered something about the death of the king.

'I don't think I mentioned my name.' she said after a while. 'Bahat. Of the Fire Stone clan, though I suppose that says nothing to you.'

*Meanwhile, a hooded figure is in the market area, trying to buy some groceries, when some random thug from riots elsewhere started harassing a stall owner nearby, glancing around, the figure could see no guards around, probably due to said riot. The figure walked over, and tapped the thug, who turned around, only to get a sound fist to the face. The frightened stall owner then soundly smacked the thug with a cudgel, knocking the thug out.*
"Thank you sir, you can shop here for a good discount in the future, and please, have this."
*The stall owner hands over a small pouch of silver. The hooded figure took it, finished its shopping, and walked home.*

Asgard looked at Freya, and said "Go to the clergyman over there, and stay there no matter what happens." Freya looks at him with a slight sadness, adn walks over to the clergyman who puts a sealing ward around her after making sure she was okay Asgard put his left hand over the Holy Guard, and chanted the Seal Release. The chains fell to the ground causing the cobblestone to crack, and a loud bang fills the street as the sound fades away all the fighters turn to see what it is, and before most could see someone nearest Asgard screams " Its him the Hell's Demon he is going to kill us all !!!!! " upon hearing those words the rioters, and guards ran in every direction away from Asgard. As the last person leaves the road Asgard reseals the Holy Guard, and once again passes out in the middle of the road.

"It doesn't, I'm afraid, but it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. What sort of animals does the Fire Stone Clan keep?"

((I thought this would go faster yesterday, because I'm leaving for 6 days in a few hours. Blegh. To be honest, I don't think this will live 6 days, but I can always hope. Strife, I'll let you resolve this and then help Bahat carry all that to the caravan. She'd probably find it a bit weird if he sticked around after that.))

'Winged beasts-of-burden we call teleki, mostly, and the smaller sokil, which can only carry one or two men.' Bahat explained. 'In the past, great spirits of air and ifrits soared us in the skies, carrying golden palaces for us. That's most likely an exaggaration, but they did fly with us as equals.'

Less and less market stalls stood on the roadsides as they went on, and the crowds became smaller. The sprawling harbor district spread out below them at the bottom of the hill. The sheer amount of seafaring ships in the city was breathtaking. Narrow southerner sloops with triangle-like sails moved amongst larger Tyrenian warships like sharks on the hunt. Graceful elven merchant ships stood apart from everyone else, their hulls crafted with magic instead of technology. It pained Bahat to see one of the ships - a mastless, multi-level pleasure yacht pulled by a powerful, chained spirit of water. It was invisible to eyes unused to the Twilight World, giving he impression it moved on its own.

She couldn't watch them any longer. The stench of fish was everpresent, and it did not take her long to spot a store displaying open crates full of freshly-catched fish. Bahat moved over, whipping out the junk she was supposed to pay with. She could've exchanged them for actual money, but it was easier to fool shopowners than professional jewellers.

The thick-necked, towering man standing behind the crates watched her with open hostility as she approached.

'I'll buy four crates.' Bahat said,  dropping the trinkets on the table. Gold glittered in the sunlight. She watched the man's eyes open wide with greed. Typical.

'Where did you steal that from, witch? Give it to me or I'll call the guards.' the man spat.

Bahat cursed out loud - he was slightly smarter than what she usually had to deal with. Bahat moved to snatch the trinkets back, but the man was faster than she'd thought. One arm struck out to hold her back, one to scoop up the gold. Bahat stumbled back and threw a quick look at Strife. The man had seemed like one who'd help someone in a situation like this.

((Honestly, I'll be quite surprised if this lasts all that long as well. I'm perfectly willing to keep plugging away at it though, heck if I have any plans for Strife to bump into the main plot though. I'm treating this as writing practice for myself (hence I'm not even using my normal rp notation!) as well as some character developmentationary processing for Strife.))

The fishmonger moved to keep Bahat back with his right hand while his other stole her stuff. That was hardly the right thing to do. Without much consideration, Strife found himself stepping forward and to the side, putting himself right in front of the stall. The fisherman didn't seem to expect that. Without either man thinking, the soldier pinned his left hand to the table. Strife wasn't exactly short, but the fishmonger was a head taller and heavily muscled.

((Gah. Need work on action scenes. Will do more later. When it isn't so hot.))
