Ludwig moistened his lips with his tongue before continuing, "I remove people who are..unneeded and I also collect information.". He then looked deep into the king's eyes, trying to read his thoughts.

"We are going to go talk to the privaterring group since I don't want to work for a noble as we will be stealing, and looting from them soon enough. Now lets go." says Renard as he turns, and wlaks out of the musty tavern where he had gained the information. Jack, and Harold weren't far behind as the trio set off down the main road heading towards the port.

Go talk to the privaterring group for a job.

((I suck at rolls so far I think I've had a 6,1,2 and another 2  :'( ))

A cool chill grows in the air as winter sets in and the trail of the bogeymen grows fainter yet.

The path Meng is following seems to be in a valley, a wall rises on one side and there seems to be a huge drop too his left, rushing water can be heard. Thank goodness it's not frozen yet.

Walk down the valley side to the river and follow it to it's source. After all where there's water, there is life, try looking for human activity nearby or failing that try and hunt a large animal down for food.

The Mirish Port...

(Tearakudo 1) You spend the day assessing the odds of raiding the Mirish ports. Some of the members of your crew catch on, and one, who was apparently a Mirish loyal, takes a smaller vessel to land while nobody is looking. He's likely sold you out, as the Mirish navy has begun to mobilize towards where you're anchored.
(5) On the plus side, the time you've spent being betrayed has given you a fairly good view of the trade routes going in and out of Miring. You'd probably be able to catch a trade ship or two unawares. (5) You easily give the Mirish navy the slip, disappearing to the high seas.

(4) Once there, you lay in wait until you spot a trade ship on the horizon. You immediately begin to give chase, (6) and your smaller vessel is able to catch the opposing ship -- but you're going so fast that the opposing ship has time to wheel around and prepare for your attack. Recognizing the intentions of your sloop, the much larger carrack prepares to ram your vessel. What do you do?

The High Seas...

(Renard 5) Just as you're preparing to row out to the privateers, the Mirish Fleet begins to move towards them and the privateers make a quick escape. Luckily, you give chase in your remaining ship and soon come across them just as a trading carrack is preparing to ram them. What do you do?

A tall, hooded man approaches a gatehouse to the city of Sheepstead, known by no-one, but with great plans. Knocking on the door, he waits, wondering how to get to the king. Seeming to make a decision, he pulls his hood further down his face as the door swings open.
"Hhhello?" The guard appears to falter at the sight of this pasty faced man.
"Hello." The mans voice is firm. "I am Ichor Echen. I believe your master requires my specialist services. I will see him now."
Although the guard seems hesitant, Ichor wishes to save his powers for the king.
Just use normal persuasive skills to convince the guard that I need an audience with the king.

I can use tactics in naval battles right? If possible use CAPTURE UNIT

else/in addition to: My ship should be faster/more manueverable...try to miss a collision though and get alongside the ship

((urge to use a tactic used in a book i read: Drop anchors to hook around HARD))

Describe that tactic in enough detail and well enough and I'll rule you can get a one-off +1 to your Tactics roll for reasons of Rule of Cool.

((Damn and i dont have the book with me lets see how well i can remember this:

They were in a faster ship and facing a much larger one. Instead of running (against the current, because the larger ship would cut the waves that were slowing them) they used the current to give them speed. Used lines to find the depth they were at, timed the descent of the anchors then set up them up for use. Charged the ship that was chasing them, and dropped the anchors for timing to slam into the -side- of the other ship instead of the bow. Hurray for neigh-suicidal tactics.))

OOC: I think that deserves more than a +1 tactical role if it succeeds, that sounds like a full on all or nothing move  :o

Aye, I think I've heard of that being done, actually o_O Great way to completely murder someone's rudder/turbine/hull if your anchor isn't given too much chain. You need to be going at a pretty good speed and get -really- lucky, though. Timing is everything :)

((Okay this is my first GM post, so please let me know if I missed something or you feel like I did something wrong. Thatkid or Iiteum have full veto privilege!))

Doc Jognson, Jormund, and Ehndras

Quote
Ehndras assesses his numbers and equipment and begins his journey to converge with Jormund. If Jormund cannot be found, Ehndras will make his way to the lands Jormund possesses in hopes of meeting him, and guarding it against any threats.

(2) Proud of your newly trained warriors you insist on leading them towards Jormund's new lands yourself despite your injuries. Unfortunately you must have read the map incorrectly as you end up going in the complete wrong direction. This will delay your meet up with Jormund (3) Fortunately you're able to catch the mistake before it's too late and will arrive only a few days behind.

Quote
Let Jormund raise those ambush troops, but under the Manskinner's land. Take part in the battle against the other clan.

Quote
If allowed by Johnston, raise a regiment of ambush troops, either as my own or under the Jarls name, paying for them with the 2 ducats I discovered on the parcel of land. Request training from the veteran soldier and ask if he will aid me in the battle against the small clan if different tactics are needed. Once my troops and Ehndras' are ready go and fight the small clan that's imposing on my land and try and capture at least enough of them for 1 ducats worth of slaves.

(1) You spend 2 ducats to raise the Ambush troops. But it seems that the Clan has already tried to settle your land, you'll have to fight them.

The Battle of Weyland Valley

Having raised your forces, Sir Jormind, and Doc Johnson arrive back to their newly claimed land to find the clan of barbarians trying to settle it themselves. They are obviously not skilled miners having spent most of their days conducting raids on neighbouring clans, but this doesn't stop them from trying as you see numerous pieces of mining equipment scattered about their camp. They will have a +1 terrain advantage.

Ehndras' troops do not arrive as scheduled, and you are forced to wait. (3) Thankfully you're able to keep your force hidden from the enemy's sentries long enough for them to arrive several days later. Your Ambush troops won't have a terrain bonus because the regular infantry negate it, but they will still provide a tactical bonus in your attempt to take slaves.

Forces in play:
Weyland: 1 Infantry, 1 Ambusher [Tactics +1]
Valley Clan: 1 Infantry

Round 1 Tactics:

Jormund: As Ehndras' troops come into view of the Clan's camp, you decide to spring forward with your ambush troops and attempt to capture as many as you can! [Req: 5 Roll: 3] Unfortunately seeing that you are trying to capture them causes them to fight even more furiously, they do not want to be taken alive! (-1 to ensuing melee)

Round 1 Battle:
3+1 vs. 3+2-1 – Draw (1 Clan infantry lost, 1 Weyland infantry lost)
The battle is bloody on both sides as the Valley Clan refuses to be taken alive, making the Weylanders pay for every single barbarian struck down. As always you may choose which regiment is destroyed.

[6] As you take control of the Clan's camp you notice that they may have been more successful than previously thought having mined out another 2 ducats of gold! However it's quite clear that this Valley clan is much bigger than anticipated and they'll want their land back. Expect them to try and take it back by force in the future.

use the riots, by spreading some of the Jarls men among the populace to heat the mood even more up and commit arson on Cyclist buildings. Make sure to leave evidence that points to the Orthodoxy...

(4) You and your men dressed in Orthodox monk robes find a large Cyclist gathering hall that is not guarded at night. (6) Easily breaking into the building, the wooden structure catches fire and spreads quickly... too quickly. Before you know it, the entire building is consumed in flames and now the whole block is catching fire. (4) Alarm bells are ringing now as people stumble into the streets to either combat the flames or just to see what's going on. Your men make sure to linger enough to be seen running from the scene. It doesn't take long before people all over the city are shouting angrily both for and against the Archbishop.

(3+1) The resent arson and murders prove the perfect catalyst for tensions to boil over, along with the fire, A Cyclist group start marching down the streets demanding justice and denouncing the Archbishop. Suul is burning.

((I'm not sure if it's up to me, but I'd like to have Ehndra's regiment be the one killed due to the fact that they're cheaper and he won't be able to afford the upkeep on them anyways once the years rolls around.))

Jormund returns to Dr. Johnston (or just finds us on the field of battle, I don't remember if he joined us) and informs him how the battle went. "It was a decent battle, the new troops we raised did their best to try and capture the other clan, but unfortunately Ehndras' men were a little wet behind the ears and got in the way of the plan. Partially because of this, we lost about half of our forces in the battle but still came out victorious. The other good thing about the battle was that we managed to get 2 ducats that they had found. Unfortunately, I believe there's more of them, and so we might be fighting them in the future. In the mean time, I'd like to resume studying tactics with some of the soldiers through the winter as well as working on possibly fortifying my land in case the Valley clan does come back. I don't think there's going to be much more opportunities for us until spring arrives."

Return to Dr. Johnston and give him the 2 ducats and turn the soldiers back over to him. Return to the veteran soldier and resume studying tactics now that I have my own parcel of land. Lastly, attempt to build a wall or earthen defense around the Valley area.
