((Yeah it'll take at least a year to build an academy and even then there has to be people who are willing, able, and can afford to learn.  And if the priest wants you dead he'll try to kill you in the throne room))
((Yep thats why I have a backup plan))

((Let me guess, it involves killing the king.Still i don't see the reason not to let the non-mages use magic. Oh and if you kill the current king i will be pissed.))

((What if somebody that was a non-mage took it upon himself to find an artifact and found it? Would you try and confiscate it?))

((It would depend on hwo they would use it, but no unless it was the academy's property to begin with. If it isn't our property than the person who has it would be put under surveilance, and an instructor will drop by to teach them basic rules regarding magic use, and offer them an application to the academy.))

I hope you realise I can overrule any of this if I think it's unbalanced, right?  And I do.

I want to go ahead, and state this, but Gil. isn't a typical bound demon it took five mages to summon him, and the sheer amount of power required a seal to be put on Hiatsu's arm to keep him tied to this world if its cut the demon is released, adn returns to his realm.

Alright, I'll let this one run.  Wherever it was you learned to become a summoner, five of the mages there summoned and bound this demon into shape.  Never mind the question of why the hell they gave this unspeakably powerful demon to a seventeen year-old journeyman wizard.  You have an artefact (the seal) that keeps Gilgamesh* bound in his shape because you are not skilled enough to do it yourself.  If you ever lose that seal, or woe betide the seal is destroyed, Gilgamesh will break free and in all probability eat you and half the city.  You will also need to make a roll to successfully command him to do anything, if you insist on making him that powerful.  Failure risks him breaking loose.

Either use him sparingly, or start binding demons you can physically manage.

*Pick a naming scheme and stick with it.  Mixing Japanese with Arthurian longswords and ancient Mesopotamian hero-kings gives me a headache.  A headache bad enough that I start abusing the italics key, and that's just bad formatting.  We'll pass off the Sumerian naming scheme as working for demons, but if you ever raise 'Excalibur' again so help me gods that sword is going to get broken and shoved where the Sun shineth not.

((Not like Chrono Cross at all.))
???
((Sorry I ment chrono crusade.))

You are gods-damned lucky I haven't played the first and I don't know anything about the second.

<Long exchanges about what the character would do in various situations.>

You know, some of these questions would be perfectly valid in character.  Whilst you're waiting for the King to respond, the court could quite happily interrogate this wizard that's appeared.

((Ya I prefer to never use Gil. since I don't want to die (Plus that situation would have to be like hell on earth if it required him), and I was wondering why none of the nobles are interogatting me. Also sorry about the names, but I choose the first one that pops into my head I can't help it.))

((Well I didn't ask you a question, but I did draw my sword and accuse you of being the brother of a traitor (subtext:Another traitor) Also told the king not to trust you.))

Quote
When the traitor's brother introduced himself, Knavston drew his sword immediately. Having grown up in the Order, he was trained to be suspicious of almost all those who claimed to hold sway over magic. Let alone those who had the blood of traitors. His eyes focused on Hiatsu with a sharp distrust. The magicians tricks only increased his distrust of him, he kept his sword up and ready.

“It would be wise not to heed his tricks, Your Majesty!” The Grand Master blurted. “He is the brother of a traitor, that alone clouds his heart's intentions. He is dangerous enough on his own, let alone if you give him coin and land. His heart speaks nothing but Pride and revenge.”
"Sir I suggest you put the sword away I can't control Gil. when he sees someone pointing a weapon at me he attacks, and if you destroy my seal he will rip this twon apart, so ya you mght want to put that sword down." says Hiatsu as sweat beads roll down his face, and the strain of keeping Gil. under control begins to show.

Locanil was directed by the guards to the ruler's "castle". It did not seem built well and it had the marks of a fire. He entered the courtyard and then into the courtly hall. Others were gathered around. A wizard of some sort and his companion seemed to be in dispute with another human wielding a sword. As an acolyte of the god of learning , Ortiziem, he watched and waited.

((Wait, what? We have drawn swords here?! Jeez, I missed that bit. :P ))
Trubaldsome frowned, and edged his seat back a few paces as he watched the Grand Master and the wizard confront each other. He glanced about the room for Waery, who was, for some reason, no longer at his side. He was swiftly becoming agitated.
"That damned wooly-headed brute!" He muttered under his breath, reaching into one large pocket on his green overcoat(Which had been meticulously washed by the castle's maids to remove any stains of blood) to retrieve his snuffbox. As he took a calming pinch, he looked more closely at this strange situation... The King sitting at court, surrounded by guards, that bastard Kaguro trying feebly to talk his way out of his predicament, and now a priest threatening a wizard, who was in turn threatening the entire town. Where the bloody hell was Waery?!!

Meanwhile Waery, unaware of his Lord's distress, was combing the room for someone more approachable.
He found a few rich merchants, more accepting of his appearance than the pampered nobles- But most had not heard anything more than vague, idle chatter about any happenings in Miring. Frowning in annoyance now, he replaced his unsureness with brusqueness, simply barging up to whomever looked likely to know anything, whether they be noble or commoner, and simply demanding, "Have ye heard any news from Miring of late?" This approach caused quite a few to simply ignore him, or spout a few cautious, subtle insults at Waery, but he ignored that and kept asking others.
Damn those silly girls! Couldn't they see he was about important business? Every moment longer he was away from his lord was a moment for lord Trubaldsome to throw a tantrum or something. He almost entertained the thought of murdering them, but quickly shunned it- He would not make a habit of that. Besides, they were nobles, not some nobody peasants...

Actions: Trubaldsome shifts his seat back away from the priest-wizard confrontation, wondering where Waery got to, as Waery combs the room looking for some other gossips in the know about Miring.
