((Yep, That was from me. I asked Iituem if I could just ramble on for a bit, around my rolls. And he said it was okay. So I did. And as Thatkid doesnt mind if you do the same, go for it.))

Drua spends her idle time studying books on cartography from the Royal Library in order to learn some mapping skills for her upcoming expedition[5]. She works tirelessly in the kitchen in the mean time, providing spices and herbs for the cooks to use. She sees Hubris Pontmercy around a few times and usually just politely nods, engaging in small talk on the quality of root grass as a topping and such from time to time.

Spoiler: long time ago (click to show/hide)

It suddenly dawns on Hubris Pontmercy, after standing around aimlessly in the king's court for a long time, that he had been spoken to. "h'Ah, yes m'lord, right away," he blusters, and, bowing deeply, hurries off to find a commander to discuss basic screening.

After answering some basic questions such as "Do you plan to poison the king?" and "Have you ever been affiliated with any rebel organizations?"* you are welcomed into the staff with open arms.

Adwarf, I assume you still have that one ducat you got from the Ztah Raiders. Otherwise there isn't anything you can do anyways. Rolling now...
(2+1=3) Using your sole ducat, you're able to purchase a fair amount of fertilizer from some of the peasants living closest to the Eelspine Range. This makes the land livable, which in turn sets the stage for a town to be built should you find the funds needed for such an endeavor. That is, livable without outside help.
You do not have the money needed in order to construct a wall.

So it makes 2 Ducats now, or it can just have a village on it?

We'll say you now get 1 ducat a year from the production of food, which you're able to sell to the few poor herders in the regions, along with the 1 ducat/year you already had simply as a land tithe.
So 2/year, yeah.

He already used that 1 ducat in an earlier attempt, but I don't feel like overruling this.  In future, though, when someone attempts something that will give them an extra ducat per year, increase the difficulty by 1/ducats per year to be gained.  If it's an immediate reward, probably in the region of +1 diff/2-3 ducats rewarded.

Ah, I see. I looked through the older posts to see if he had used it or not and couldn't find anything so I just assumed. And I believe I originally had meant to raise the difficulty, but then I thought "wait, adding a ducat lowers the difficulty by one!" and forgot that difficulty was being raised as well :P

I will make this interference, though.  To avoid tracking things like 'improved parcels', when you improve land via fertilisation etc, the bonus ducat just counts as an extra parcel.  In other words, adwarf now has two parcels of land in Eelspine.  "Parcel" is thus as much a measurement of space as it is productivity (hence why the term is so vague).

The Swordcoast likely has access to the water allowing for maritime pursuits. They also might maybe have access to a variety of lumber types.

((Storm Coast, damnit. And if it helps, in my mind the Coast is a much more mediterranean area, so I'd expect they produce goods like wine/grapes and such as well as fish and grain. I'd expect luxury goods like that have a bonus to happiness of the people/pacifiying open land/I'm not really sure.))

((Works for me. And haha...sorry...I was working on the next session of a Forgotten Realms campaign that takes place in the Sword Coast just before writing up that reply))

Royal Chef Pontmercy bustles into the throne room, and bowing deeply, addresses the king. "M'lord, h'wat 'hwould h'you like fo' suppah this evening?"

The King ponders a moment, and then replies "I think simply Mutton shall serve this night. As always, you may expand upon that however you wish."
