Attack. Keep my shield ready to block him and my sword ready to strike. If that fails the heavy mail should protect me.
(Because Gilgamesh is for all purposes a potent demon, he gets +1 Innate Armour bonus and has 3hp like a player. Let's make this Fun.)[6+2 vs 2+2] Sir Taric charges the demon with sword and shield prepared. Gilgamesh spears the body on the ground and hurls both spear and body at Sir Taric, but misses - the spear drives itself into the wall, pinning the headless corpse there. Taric slashes his sword through the demon's belly, spilling the possessed guardsman's intestines everywhere. [Taric 3hp, Gil 2hp]
Gilgamesh screams and tries to flee [2], but Sir Taric easily keeps pace with him and forces him into another exchange. Go lengthy writing times...
[2+2 vs 3+2] Sir Taric raises his shield and thrusts with the sword, but the demon grabs the blade with its free hand and, unheeding of the tendons being severed by the iron blade, yanks the sword to one side. Gilgamesh brings his own sword down against Taric's shield, the very top of the blade scoring a wound on Taric's forehead and forcing him to the ground. [Taric 2hp, Gil 2hp]
Because Taric has lost a bout, Gilgamesh has enough time to leap to a rooftop and sprint away over the tiles.
The Grand Master was all but flabbergasted at the events that had transpired. This child mage had not only brought a powerful demon that could have harmed his King, but he couldn't even control the bloody thing. Before he could react the demon had thrown itself and the guard it inhabited through the window, into the courtyard below.
Seeing that an entire platoon of guards were descending on the foolish boy summoner, The Grand Master decided the best use of his sword arm would be to help track down that demon before it caused more harm to the innocent citizens of Sheepstead.
“I shall follow that cursed beast, My liege!” He shouted at the King. His Sergeants would stay behind and ensure the Erik's safety, though he had no doubt about his abilities when compared to a single boy. He cursed lightly under his breathe as he ran out of the hall, praying for strength as he made for the ornate staircases of the palace. By the blood curdling screams he heard in the courtyard the demon was making short work of anyone and everyone who stood in his path (Or nearby it). He huffed in deep breathes as he raced down the stairs as quickly as he could, his legs protesting as he happened into the courtyard to see the trail of gore and destruction.
He hoped he would find the creature soon before it could cause too much more damage.
Try to follow the path of destruction and help contain, kill or drive off the beast.
You follow the trail of blood and bodies, soon finding yourself in the twisting back streets of Sheepstead. [2] You are soon enough very lost, both yourself and the trail, [4] but hear the scrabbling on the roof tiles in time to look up. You dive for safety as the guardsman pounces from the roof, his eviscerated bowels trailing after him like loose cordage.
[2+2 vs 6+2] Your heavy armour slows you down as you try to evade the creature and it tackles you to the ground, rolling with you and clawing at your face with nails and fingers, some of whose ends have been cut off by a sword and left exposed sharp bone. You sustain several deep scores to the face. [Black 2hp, Gil 2hp]
[3+2 vs 2+2] You manage to roll to the side and grasp your fallen sword, bringing it up to guard you. The blade slices through the demon's borrowed face such that it reels back, blood flowing freely from the severed nose and ruined lips and cheek. Its screams combine with the horrible snorting of mucous to produce a truly unholy sound. [Black 2hp, Gil 1hp]
[3] The demon leaps to its feet and starts fleeing. You follow, but the chase takes you further through the streets. [2] You are able to keep pace with the creature, barely, but not able to reach it before the demon comes across another victim.
Run after the screams and destruction?
You run blindly into the city back alleys, following the screams. [4] You pass ruined shreds of intestine hanging from rooftops, then a headless body impaled against a wall. You think you catch sight of an armoured figure with a head wound as you chase after the unearthly screams, but do not have time to address him. You find yourself running down one street when a nightmarish figure, a man with half a face, disembowelled and with numerous mortal wounds, runs towards you. He launches into a leap, claw-like fingers extended.
[5 vs 2+2] You react without thinking, ducking and rolling. The demon launches past you and falls gracelessly into the street. Seizing the opportunity you grab the hideous beast by the remnants of the head and bash it against the hard stone pavers before it can react. You beat the creature's head into the ground again and again until it shatters in your hands.
The guardsman's body lies still at last.
Gilgamesh has been vanquished.
