When you're in an area where it rains frequently, don't try to drain a muddy pool by digging into the hill side.
It will drain, sure, but after a while half of your map will be covered in 1/7 water and strange shrubs and saplings that you've never seen before.

I don't see the problem, 1/7 water will evaporate and strange bushes and saplings can only turn out good when I harvest berries and cut down trees for wood.

I'm in a biome where it doesn't stop raining long enough for the water to evaporate. So it isn't going away, it's just spreading out.
Slowly, mind you, but it is spreading out. I'll look away for a few minutes and when I look back it will have creeped a tile or two. After about three hours it's reached the river at the northernmost point, and now I'm just waiting for it to cause the river to overflow...that should be FUN.

I actually prefer my artificial ever-growing lake-creep. It's grown on me, in the way that only FPS destroying zerg could.

This I can and will do. But it's Kobold Camp, so magma is kind of not possible and the corpses will be our own.
