I would be most pleased to be head royal advisor.  May I suggest locking the jester in a small box when thou dost not need him sir?  It twould be most funny, and that way he won't get stepped on by any horses.  We mayhaps even hang the box near thy royal chair, so thou could laugh at him all day long.

Please Adviser deadmeat, if thou wish to fight would you mind doing so outside?  The royal carpets are far to expensive to be covered in blood of one so low as a jester.

You may build a statue of me anyway, Advisor Deadmeat. Do you imply that you would only honor your king if he granted you position and title? (Deadmeat1471, -2 favor)

Advisor Shadenight, your offer is intriguing. What military experience can you offer to my armies? (Shadenight123, +1 favor)
(OOC: If I ask you a lore question about character, make it sound good. :P)
The king nods to Advisor Talarion. "Let's see what he has to say himself, yes?"

The King scowls at advisor Ochita, coming into the throne room with geese feathers on his pauldrons. (Ochita, -2 favor)
Shootandruns excuse offers a little more leeway. "We are all, advisor and King, at the whim of the Gods after all. You are forgiven Advisor. (Shootandrun, +1 favor)

"Hitty40, you insult the crown by implying I could not kill you any time I like. Your a Jester, and if you wish to save your hide, you will jest" Any other man would have been struck down already. Advisors Shootandrun, Talarion, and Taricus vocal support make him glad. (Shootandrun, Talarion, and Taricus +1 favor)

Before he ask further, he is interrupted as Advisor Deadmeat1471 beheads the jester, spattering blood and juices in the royal hall. "So many good suggestions put to waste for such a quick death! While your actions are commendable Advisor Deadmeat, I now charge you with cleaning up this mess. All the messes in fact. Advisor Deadmeat, you are appointed to Head of Sanitation. Now, dispose of this body please. The Crows and Wolves need to feed after all...also, waste of a good pie."

He chides minister Ochita for wasting pie, and along with the geese incident is not looking very happy with him at all... (Ochita -1 favor)

The King picks up on the question (Candidates! suppose that trolls were invading. What would you suggest our lord do?) and asks for his advisors opinions, hypothetically of course, though he does not catch who said it in the first place.

"Advisor Talarion, your humility is a virtue. But Boldness is also a virtue..." He places his royal hand upon his royal chin...

Quote
Advisor Kilkan is currently being considered for Head Advisor, with suggestions from other advisors, and has made a token gesture, but he was not heard (+1 support)
Advisor Talarion is also currently being considered for Head Advisor, with suggestions from other advisors, and has made a humble gesture, impressing the King slightly (+2 support)

Advisor Shadenight is currently being considered for Military Leader, but has yet to offer tale of his military prowess

Advisor Taricus is currently being considered for Interior Minister

Advisor Digitual Hellhound is being considered for Head Diplomat

Humble Farmer Nirur Torir is being considered for Head of Agriculture, but is not a noble, and will likely need to be sponsored by a royal advisor. (-2 support)

Sir, Shall I get a magician so that we may torment the jester's spirit for all eternity?

I believe that we have a necromancer in the dungeons, shall I go fetch him?

My Lord, might I suggest that we dedicate a room to planning and discussions, one more suitable than your throne room. Judging by the mess we have made already, it would be prudent to avoid any more defilement of your castle in your presense...

Just remember, he's sentenced to a family stoning. Once he's finished animating the dead jester we'll have him brought to the stoning area.

"A brilliant idea-fetch the magician Advisor Taricus, and the court Necromancer Advisor Furtuka! And they had better produce results this time, or it's your heads! Oh ho ho. I jest.

Not really.

...

I guess we can convert the West Tower to a planning room. I will need a new throne though, and a large table, that which I can sit at the head of. Someone fetch these things for me. (describe them in detail)"

In the case of trolls, is they were in small enough numbers, I would suggest taking old and rotting meat, poisoning it heavily and leaving the meat in the trolls path.  Once they are sick, we could kill the most dangerous ones with arrows and spears, then take the rest prisoners to be tortured for information as to where they came from and then eventually become a slave work force.
A larger force would prove more dangerous, but I would suggest laying explosives under a key bridge, luring them across and then blowing them up.  With the forces split in half they could easily e dispatched with thy royal highnesses military might.
A truly overwhelming force would have to be dealt with pristine care.  Though as many know trolls are afraid of fire, so an easiest solution would to be laying a feild full of pitch and fire spirits and burning the wretched horde to cinders.

I also suggest, if I may be so bold, that we send troops to secure our borders and workers to construct towers overlooking the borders, to forewarn us of any attacks. Oh, I will retrieve them right away, Lord.

The throne is large, made of marble and inset with rubies, sapphires and diamonds, with a silky fur cushion to soften the hard stone. The table is a long, mahogany affair, with carvings of lions and wolves to represent power and fierceness, yet nobility.

Ahh so you must then be a spy.  Sent to watch us for the eyes of your foreign heathen lords then?  I think we just found a good candidate for the soon to be ressurected Jester to be tried on.  Guards would you please hold this spy?

As for your table and throne sir, I shall get the errand boys to fetch the golden and bronze throne with the high back that has the designs of a gryphon and dragon fighting and entwined upon the back, and the blood red velvet cushions.  As for the table, I trust the large mahogany table with the claw feet that the magician enchanted with a map of the realm upon it's surface should suffice.  While it is old, and somewhat battered it has served as a war room table and map for many generations.
