All right, I'll claim, General Philip Henry Sheridan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Sheridan

He was riding a desk for the first year of the war, apparently, so you can bring me in 1862.

I chose him because when he narrowly avoided being killed by rebel artillery, he said something like.

That's damn ungenerous! I shall take those guns for that!

And everyone should remember him as a badass.

My favorite commander of the war  :P

Ahh I didn't plan on living after it after all this is a game about the war not about what happens after the war.

It depends if we're going to totally ruin history and end up with the the Commu-Nazi Australian Pacific Empire invading the independent state of California with battle blimps in 1942, or something crazy like that.

I think that was in the Kennesaw mountains.

I'll be happy if the guy that plays as Lincoln throws Boothe over the balcony.

And I wouldn't explain what I'd do in the future wars. Especially one that occurred just before WW1.

For people who wish to know, the first battle will be:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Battle_of_Bull_Run

Also, the chance of death will be based on the losses taken by your unit. If 1/3 die you will have about a 1 in 3 chance of being wounded and after that it comes down to research I do on casualty rate from wounds. Probably around 30%.

I'll be Jeff Davis unless anyone else wants him now or later. Seeing as the game is pretty 'rigged' to history I can take part myself  :P

Hmm...make sure to include like a 5/100 chance of randomly dying to circumstance every time your commander is in direct combat, even when your winning the battle overwhelmingly. This might mean catching bullets or artillery shells from your own troops, falling off your horse accidently, tripping and drowning in a duck pond, dying after the battle to a minor infected wound etc.

It's more fun that way.  :D

Sure, I was thinking the same. Ill have a battle chance of death and an attrition one. Attrition will be rolled once a battle, to see if you get hit randomly during it. A second roll will determine when, for RP purposes.

Also the chance of dying from disease was about 1 in 15(in the whole war), that will be modeled in between battles.

Also, Bdthmag Pvt. Rhodes is involved in bull run as part of Burnsides second brigade, Hunters division.

Slated for involvement in Bullrun at the Regimental level.
2nd Rhode Island: Col John S. Slocum (k), Ltc Frank Wheaton, Maj Sullivan Ballou (k)

Custer I believe is also involved, currently that is our only involvement in 1st Manassas.
