Seriously, most desert countries in the current world are kinda... poor in the quality of life as far as I know.

IN, Though I'll be taking part of Adwarf's plan I'm going near a river too.

That's a better idea than Adwarf's plan. I mean, you need at least some arable land to maintain a large civilization.

You forgot they had planes, satellites, guns, cars, and tanks. We have bows, arrows, rocks, spears, and axes big difference

Added, I'll definitely have to expand the map, didn't bet on this many people I'll put a new one up tomorrow night with everyones spawn locations on it.

*Also ill make the map abit prettier, and add woodland and desert and snow.

I will give people the choice of spawns, as several of you want to start near rivers or in mountains etc. If they don't choose then it will be random.

He's going to use a RNG; I doubt he's going to push you farther away from the rest of us.

Adding them on the new improved bigger map I was going to assume there was a measure of wood everywhere, but I guess it would be more interesting to have a few more 'biomes'

On the new map we will have:

Plains
River
Mountains/hills
Desert
Snow/cold
Ocean/sea
Woods

I would prefer to use an ascii editor or maybe i'll use excell and turn the squares into coloured squares. However on my crappy linux machine I couldnt get ascii editors working

I will decide tomorrow on the actual format of the map, whatever it is I will keep this portion already seen as the centre.
