Fellow dwarves, I'll need you to donate me Crowns you have tospare (we only use money now to buy tools - and my toolsmith is almost ready to forge our stuff).
If I ever get around to updating this, ever, and my character has somehow survived in the database since the last time I played, I believe I could make at least some tools.

I created a new better character for my play style.
I went right out and killed 4 pigs, 2 cows, a bandit, a sheep, dog, cat and rabbit.
I think I've done good. I had over 200 $ before I spent it on a new bow and arrows.

Also for anyone having a runtime error like I had, run it in administrator mode. Fixed my problem.

Were you that Stryxx guy? If I knew that was you I'd have invited there.

Yep, Stryxx is Swedish for marksman if I remember correctly.

The update started working working for some reason this morning.

I've started my first character as an Axe fighter/ lumberjack.

YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE (or just 50% of it  :P)
I won't be able to play much this weekend, so I need that the Duke/Captain/Lieutenant recruit the B12'ers that want in.

The resources we need for our Boat and Settlement Goal are:

Planks (Lumberjacker get Wood, Carpenter makes Planks) -- Buildings/Boats
Nails (Mining gets Ore on Mines and makes Ingots at Forge, Toolsmith makes Nails) -- Buildings/Boats
Linen (Herbalist get flax, Tailor makes Linen) -- For Boats Only
Bricks (Mining gets Stone on top of mountains, Masonry makes bricks) -- For Buildings Only
Crowns (Monies) (Get money by selling crafted/skinned/looted stuff at Trader Ergol, on starters'market) -- To train our architect

Please, don't go making planks/nails/linen/bricks if your carpentry/toolsmithing/tailoring/masonry skill is not at least 35, because you'll waste resources and not make any EXP, since at 20 skill level you get no exp for these items.
( That's why I'm not rushing to make boats and buildings and all of that, because we'd be getting no experience, and a more important Goal than rushing is that we get higher skill levels, so we can do everything faster and better. )
If you lack those crafting skills, store the raw materials or ask in Faction chat if anyone has the skill.
(My crafter can do all of these, except linen, so tell me when you have resources to help)

We'll need A LOT of these items. So once you reach minimum 35 and maximum 60 skill, please store them.
And keep your money stored, and donate to me (if you want) when I'm on, so I can train architecture.

About the boat goal: I'll give Venoth a deed to a boat so he can find better metal for us (and use in tools/weapons/armor), he'll be needing those Planks, Nails and Linen. [1000 Planks, 100 Nails and 100 Linen for a riverboat]

If I'm going to help out, I'll probably help out with herbalism, but at the start, should I worry about combat/magic skills and crafting skills? It's a bit overwhelming.

You should make your first char you 'main char'. Choose between mage or warrior, and pick only Skinning as a profession (you can choose a gathering skill too, like lumberjacking, mining or herbalism...but don't do it if you will be melee+mage).
I'll try to edit some post to make a 'first character guide'.

See Gabeux's post just before yours for a more in depth review of what's needed. But basically lumberjack or mining or herbalist is the most pressing resources we need right now :)
