So my Kobold adventurer just traveled to a cave that I could see on my map (likely thanks to another adventurer's diligently asking townsfolk about the surroundings). Upon arriving, I got a message that said he had discovered a cave entrance. Before him stood a hill, and around the hill, on the side of the hill, and at the top of the hill a variety of food items can be found laying in pools of alcohol. There are also some crafts.

But...where is the cave entrance? I've circled the hill, climbed it from every side, done everything I can think of and yet I can't find it.
Edit: Nevermind, found the cave entrance.
But what's with all these items laying around? Is it because of a creature with the nest habit? or an item thief?

Looks like you found a kobold cave, look deeper inside and see if you can find any of your fellow kobolds.

That's a tad odd, considering all of this world's kobolds should be living in cities. But will do.

I reached the caverns deep underground, and there's even more stuff.

My guess would be that all the kobolds are living in cities but the [ITEM_THIEF] tag still causes them to deposit all of their stolen loot in caves.

As it turns out, it was actually an Ettin's lair.
I have yet to see any stolen loot in the Kobold cities though, so that could very well be the case as well.
