Quick question, if the game has mods, where should I download them?
Or should I just continue with my unmodded version?

And what the hell happened to this fort?

the saves have the mods in them...like when you generate the world, all the raws are copied into the save. so the mods are still there.

as for the fortress...lets just bog trolls+ambush=*blood spatter obscures the rest of the post*

So this just sucks…

I’ve just received the job of leading some kind of fort in the middle of troll territory and the moment I walked in I just went wtf…


The fort apparently looked as if it were designed by some kind of psychopath.
Rooms twisting in and out, cages cluttering the halls, ballistae lying in the middle of nowhere with their arrows aimed at walls, A bunch of injured dwarves lying in a completely bed stuffed room, Crafts completely piling up the walkways in chest deep junk.

And GOD the ground…
I HATE dirt grounds…


Oh and while walking to the entrance I noticed a furnace worker with nearly his entire left side gone hobble by me. How he even manages to find the will to live befuddles me.

This is going to take some work…

FYI, we used to have a baron, but he was killed in the first bog troll ambush.

the "bed stuffed room" can be used as a sort of shelter. you can access it through the hospital room, second floor, and through a ramp leading to the outside. you can seal it off so that if theres a siege and it doesn't look like your going to make it, you can save at least, SOME of the dwarves.

The longer I stay here, the more convinced I am of the absolute insanity of this fort and the very land itself.


A SEAL was found prancing about in the mountains far away from any source of water.


Bridges hanging out in the middle of nowhere.

And a whole bunch of other stuff that are equally bizarre but which I don't really care to mention

There were numerous problems around the fort that had to be fixed, but with the massive mess of things, I could not focus. So the first thing I did when I came in was to order an above ground house to be built.



So I ordered the woodcutters to clear the trees, uproot the weeds (bushes), and for someone to get rid of that rotting corpse lying out in the open.
While it wasn’t exactly the most practical idea, I needed some place of rest, some place of order, somewhere where I could get away from the madness of the world.

Now of course I couldn’t just go about satisfying my own whims.
I’ve also ordered a staircase to be carved out and a massive stockpile to be designated.

“Wait, what do you mean you don’t like staircases?”
“Ei, our other fort overseer say we not allowed to make any staircases an now we all forgot how to do so.”
“….. *sigh*, fine just, do whatever ramp digging you want so long as you make it look nice.”


A whata caravan from whata la whatasion has arrived?

This will be an interesting fort indeed.
