This is a succession fortress. That means that each "turn" is one game year. From spring until the following spring. Once your turn is over, you give the save to the next person on the list(That means you post it on Dwarf Fortress File Depot, your not really exclusively giving it to one person, that's just not fair).

This fortress is currently using Regeneration, a mod created in collab with Hugo_The_Dwarf, myself, and Deon. (I came up with a lot of the ideas, Hugo did all the actual modding, and Deon came in and helped make a few creature tiles.) BEWARE, THIS FORT IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!

Goals:
Here's the idea, every time the fortress dies/gets boring, we will change worlds, so every so often you might find that professor Lloyd(or his successor) has created a hole in time and space, changing worlds. Your goal is to survive long enough for the next overseer to take over. Simple? I think not.

Rules:

1# Unless your 110% sure the fortress is sunk, don't destroy it on purpose.
2# Make your "journal" interesting! give your character a personality! don't be all like, "I made a building, a dwarf died. the end."
3# If you haven't already found what is below adamantium, then just don't dig it up at all.

7# The current overseer of the fortress is responsible for dorfing people, not me.

I don't want this thread to collapse into turmoil because everyone is doing one all at once. There's no time limit for alt universes, you can take as long as you like to complete it.
13# There's no limit for your turn, but try to give us an update or some sign of activity every so often so that we know you haven't just vanished.
14# Anyone who mentions My Little Pony shall be nailed to a burning titan, then blown up.
15# Mentioning the fact that the "#"s are on the wrong side will net you a free decapitation.

OK, I'm going to have to ask which addle brained, drunk half wit designed this shoddy excuse of a fort. There's water leaking. Everywhere. Four ghosts haunt the place, one of them howling around and causing no one to be able to have a wink of sleep. Cave collapsed, and it's pretty terrifying waiting for the next on - HOLY SHIT I THINK THE CEILING JUST MOVED! *screams*. Oh wait... uh, *ahem*. Anyway, the only place worth looking at is the communal dining hall/dorm. That'll be my base of operations from this whole goddamn mess.

Bit out of context from the game, but I'm really quite amazed at how fast this thread advances with its posts.

Compared to the Ardentdikes succession game thread which accumulated 69 pages of posts starting from about 16 months ago, this thread only started 3 months ago yet the number of posts it has already exceeds 75% of the # of posts in Ardentdikes.

Compared to the Deathgate succession thread (which already moves at a faster pace than most other successions I've seen), this thread started when the Deathgate succession thread already had 24 solid pages of posts, but now the gap in # of pages of posts is only half of what it started out as (65 pages there compared to 53 pages here)

But from another perspective:
Ardentdikes has already gone through 30 turns
Deathgate 18 turns

Also, you don't need a mod to play a fortress with a mod. The mods are automatically stored in the raws folder in the save so any DF of the same version or higher can run the fortress with the included mods.

the population is between 100-120 or so. so no need to worry about not having enough to be dorfed.
EDIT: but plenty to worry about when they begin to kill themselves from a screaming ghost depriving them of their sleep and generally making them go mad, but that's still the least of your problems.
