By Astis, this place is a mess. The walls and floors are splattered with the blood and guts of various creatures, and a horrible stench hangs over the entire fortress. The Overseer (expedition leader) ordered a personal chamber dug out, not satisfied with the humble quarters the rest of us reside in. Bloody aristocrats

19th Slate:

A massive wave of migrants arrived today, including an administrator bloody noble, masons, planters, a high master tanner, 2 gem setters, a siege engineer, 3 miners, and quite a few more or less useless dwarves (including a dwarf skilled only in comedy). More rooms are currently being dug out. Looks like the fortress might recover after all.

23rd Slate:


Our scouts report that a Forgotten Beast has been spotted. Good thing it's trapped down in the caverns. For now.

25th Slate:

What the..

It seems a couple of dogs decided to duke it out with the beast. They did a surprising amount of damage.

1st Felsite: The Overseer ordered most of the idle workers (including myself) to help with the massive work of smoothing the stone in the newly carved out rooms. A ridiculous amount of statues have also been erected in the Overseer's new "palace".

AND THIS INFECTION WAS SO TAINTED THAT NOTHING COULD SURVIVE." All this was hard to take in, I died and was then resurrected by Astis? No not resurrected just relocated, what happened to the other guy Dakost? "What's my task Astis? and what happened to Dakost?" it took only seconds for a response but here, in this light, it felt like an eternity. "DAKOST STILL LINGERS WITHIN YOUR CONTAINER, IN A DEEP SLUMBER. NO NEED TO THINK OF HIM, MORE IMPORTANT THINGS ARE AT HAND. I NEED YOU TO BUILD A CASTLE, A TEMPLE TO MY GLORY!" a window opened up in the whiteness revealing Portalpriests, but a grand structure sat above the fortified cave. Tall gleaming spires reached for the clouds, great walls with a drawbridge connecting to a larger stone bridge. From one side of the structure lava flowed out of aquaducts, on the other water. Stone of dwarves dotted the castle, they stood watch at doors, windows, even corners of the structure. But the greatest sight was the temple built on the very top of the castle. Then the window closed but the image was burned into my mind. "NOW HUGO I SHALL CURE YOUR DAMAGED BODY, BUT THE ONLY WAY I CAN GIVE YOU THE POWERS YOU ONCE HAD, IS IF YOU COMPLETE THIS TASK OR SHED THE BLOOD OF THOSE WHO WISH TO STOP YOU." with that, the light vanished, so suddenly it made the whole room seem darker then before. "Bugger."

11th Felsite: By Armok! Our broker, Sodel, was taken by a fey mood today. He has claimed a crafting workshop, and is furiously gathering materials. This should be interesting. A "nephilim" caravan also arrived today, but obviously Sodel won't be able to trade with them.

14th Felsite: The caravan does not seem to have brought anything at all. We suspect they may be spies.

17th Felsite:

20th Felsite: The "merchants" were sentenced to death by the Overseer. Ulric carried out the order quite happily.


28th Felsite:
The beast was heard commiting vandalism in the sealed tunnels. I wish we could go down there and teach the bastard a lesson.

1st Hematite:

10th Hematite:

A mysterious building is being constructed outside the walls. The Overseer inspects it daily.


13th Hematite: Rumors are circling around about the purpose of the building. Some believe it to be a monument, or perhaps a mauseoleum. I guess we'll find out in time.

17th Hematite: The Overseer spoke today. "I have seen the light. The gods have given us a holy task. We must build a tower so high it will reach into the skies. Every able dwarf shall participate in this project, or face severe punishment.

Great. Like we didn't have enough maniacs in this place.

1st Malachite: The construction on the tower continues. The sleeping quarters have been masterfully engraved by our engravers, and more quarters are being dug out.

4th Malachite:

We seem to be running out of barrels. Most of the carpenters are probably busy building this crazy tower.

11th Malachite:
The elite within our society have been assigned new living quarters, to reflect their status. bastards

13th Malachite:
A Voidwalker thief was spotted today. It was quickly dealt with.


Ulric claimed to have been engulfed in some kind of mist after killing the thief. We can only hope it will not have ill effects.


16th Malachite: More migrants! Apart from a novice soap maker, they're all relatively skilled workers.

11th Galena: Not much has happened in the past weeks. The work on the tower continues. The Overseer now also demands we dig downward under the tower. Sounds like crazy talk to me, but at least it gives me something to do. Lye isn't excactly in high demand in this place.

20th Galena: There's been an unusal amount of Bog Troll thieves around these parts, but Ulric has made short work of most of them. Speaking of that, another empty Nephilim caravan arrived today. They just don't get the message do they? More training for Ulric I suppose.

22nd Galena:

6th Limestone:
                     
I woke up today clutching this thing in my fists. I feel my goal in life is to engrave, so that is the profession I have taken.


12th Limestone:

By Astis, the caverns are swarming with these things.

15th Limestone: The tower monument nearly got 3 dwarves killed. The fools had somehow gotten themselves stuck down underground, and we had no choice but to dig a path to them from inside the fortress.

18th Limestone: Some workers remarked about how we haven't actually got a proper dining room. I suspect that will be fixed within long.

27th Limestone: Yet more migrants. A medical dwarf was with them. We still haven't got a hospital of any sort, but with all these thieves and hostile civilizations, I fear we may need one soon.
