Give it to a dwarf.
Then make sure he goes insane.

Give your fort some live combat training against a dangerous enemy.

As a slight derail, I'm currently running a fort where absolutely all the male dwarves are drafted into the military, as soon as they arrive, and equipped with the best spear I can give them, complete with copper shield, leather leggings, leather boots, four leather cloaks, and nothing else (the female dwarves do all the actual work around the fort). I am very jealous of this artifact.
