Quote from: SmileyMan
I got fed up with my fortress, so I decided to kill everyone (abandon is for elves) with a cave-in.

OK, cave-ins were always pretty deadly, but with the new falling object damage they are downright brutal.  As far as I can make out from the logs, many people were killed by the flying bodies of other victims.  One baby's corpse ricocheted off three other people, two walls and the floor.

There is no song, only 18 words which perfectly embody Dwarf Fortress: Blood for the blood god! Skulls for the skull throne! Let the galaxy lightly bake until golden brown!

Where's the last part of this quote coming from? I of course recognize the khornate quote, but baking the galaxy brown wasn't part of it and I only found this very forum while googling it.

Most of these songs I have heard are about killing and shit, lets be honest....... How often does the dwarven millitary beat the foes (Unless they are the stupid pointy eared fools from the forests)? Not many....... Most of them are killed by pure foolishness brought about by (Presumably) Alchohol and the little mushrooms that they have managed to harvest!

It's actually about nuclear weapons but "The Possibility of Life's Destruction" by Discharge fits the bill.

thus "entry of the gladiators"

trust me.  loop it during a siege.  loop it while reading combat reports.  loop it when things come up from the caverns.  loop it during "normal fortress operations".

there is not a situation in DF that is not fitting when accompanied by "entry of the gladiators".

though most of you prolly just know it as "that circus song"

another guilty musical pleasure of mine while playing DF is dragonforce.  there is too much mountains, power, justice, etc for it to not fit.

edit: also "dance of the sugar plum fairies".  ren and stimpy ruined that for me decades ago, so i find the song itself inherently comedic.  to the antics of DF, it is neigh unbeatable.

It isn't a new Dwarf Fortress version until we're made to fear some kind of regular creature.  Carp, Elephants, Unicorns, Badgers, and now Mosquitos.  I've got 5 dorfBucks on the next one being plagues of groundhogs.

(phone doesn't let me quote)   It was originally 'let the galaxy burn', but I changed it to allow for the ability to make biscuits out of kittens.

Korpiklaani beats it:

Quote
And the camp fire shines
and the brick walls are full candles
Tables full, wooden pints
They don't care about their sins
They just wanna get drunk and party

Necessary. :]

There's men, underground
Who have never seen the sun
But they really know how to party
Little men from underground
Who have never seen the sun
But the really know how to party

[Chorus:]
The rise their wooden pints and they yoik and sing
And they fight and dance 'till the morning

Tables full, reindeer meat
And the camp fire shines and the brick walls are full candles
Tables full, wooden pints
They don't care about their sins
They just wanna get drunk and party

[Chorus]

Long war is now past
Only good men have lasted
They need women, meat, beer and rum
Fight battle full of blood no thoughts about god they just slaughtered killed and tormented

[Chorus]
