Does anyone care oabout the topic or has this thread just turned into a place to be patriotic towards ones country.  Unamerican?  What like free Health Care and gun control?

Well this thread was alwasy about patriotism, from now one we'll make a new one everytime any country has a national holiday.

Today: Comoros 6 July (Independence from France 1975).

Malawi 6 July (Independence Day, from the United Kingdom 1964; and Republic Day 1966) 

Happy Independence Day Comoros and Malawi!

It kind of amuses me, that more or less two thirds of the Europeans there are Finnish.

The correct translation would be:
This thread deranged(turned) from a patriotic party into Babel (from the Bible, it's a Spanish saying, but I screwed it up by adding the tower)
You nearly nailed it, even with my typo xD
