Mineral Scarcity - How much do you set it?

What it says on the tin. Do you all set it to 100, or play it more realistically?

100. I hate eventually finding the perfect place only to find it has only zinc and nickel.

My current worldgen settings have it at 25k.

For me it feels like the problem with this scarcity value is not that it regulates scarcity in terms of diversity, but just the sheer quality. And if you have a 3x3 embark it doesn't really matter whether you have 2 z-levels of metal veins or 10. I don't mine it out all, at least.

Currently living on badlands without metals at all with 2 partially-bronze dorfs from embark as a payoff to the severed trade route with parent civ (so only 2 migrant waves). It was rather difficult to find a normal site without metals and trees by the way, and even then I got the pesky aquifer (hello cave-in method!). So-o, gotta wait for those goblinite deposits to show up.

Another option for me when wanting normal metals is dfprospector, so to eliminate the case of
eventually finding the perfect place only to find it has only zinc and nickel.

I'm at 1000 as well. Usually leaves me with at least one weapons grade material per embark which is good enough for me. Copper most of the time, though my current embark has huge magnetite, hematite and bituminous coal deposits. Coal scarcity has led to me appreciating these deposits enough to not set up magma forges and work a traditional metal industry because it's actually possible to do so for a change.

100. I like rolling around in riches.

I also like to mod my gems to appear in veins rather than small clusters, because I also like my riches to menace with spikes of superior quality emerald.

I have 610 at the moment, 650 before that, not-fun numbers before that. Got loads of custom minerals and a new iron-nickel ore Pentlandite. (because of copper-nickel White Bronze addition)

I have it set to 5000. I still end up finding sites with flux, coal and iron though!

I had it at 750 recently, but that's a bit too abundant, really. On the other hand, I like the fact that I've got 15k amethysts and enough copper+gold to make all the furniture in rose gold - on a 2x2 embark.

I usually havi it at 2000, but when I play Corrosion I set it to 1000 because I can't dig very much.

2500, all important metals for me come from invaders/merchants anyway, most of the time.

Frequent all the way, baby!
Plus I'm too lazy to actually use the advanced worldgen parameters thing.

I only use the basic worldgen, and until recently I just left it on its default setting. However, I've been getting so tired of having no coal that I've begun turning it up a notch. Seems to be working so far - I never fail to have coal now.
