I tried to trade a wood crown to the elves on accident, and the 'mood' indicator went from the default (willing to trade or whatever) to 'ecstatic with the trading' and they were willing to keep trading with me (though they did reject the trade).

As soon as I exited the trade screen though, they left like they did last version when you tried to trade them wood things.

Edit: actually I'm not sure if they left after I finished trading because of the wood rejection or because they had been there a while and it was time to go.

I don't know about the jump to ecstatic with the trading however I do know that elves won't stop trading just because you try to trade a wood item. I've noticed that all the caravans will leave shortly after the trading is complete. Regardless of if you offended them. Nice new feature. Don't have to worry as much about the elves leaving unhappy.

I wonder if they would be upset if you bought a wood item from them and then tried to trade it back.

on that same note, I had na elcen 'caravan' arrive my first summer in the late summer, and then my dwarven caravan arrived as usual. However, the elves never got as far as my depot before the dwarves showed up and they never stopped or traded.
