Name: Kin of Steel
Gender/Race: Female Dwarf
Major/Minor Skill: Metallurgy/Metal based magic (Metalbending!)
Other: A lump of Steel for Kins magic which is formed after her thoughts/ Copper pickaxe
Backstory: Grey eyes, skin and hair from her long days of working by the forges and a bit big boned, short by dwarf standard and needs alcohol to work effectively. She is creative but lacks the drive to finish a project she start and she severely lacks in social skills.
Kin was actually known as Urist Boatsinker bit decided to change her name to Kin of Steel when she discovered her potential with magic, specifically magic that had with metal to do and because no respecting dwarf would be on a boat when it sinks. Traveled to Earthhaven after hearing rumors from merchants talking about an academy specializing in magic. Kin wants to know how to make her magic stronger than only forming the lump of steel to a shape closely resembling the object she imagined.

Prologue

You six find yourselves at The Academy, a sprawling complex of impressive, fairly widely-spaced buildings, and the regions near and between them. Perhaps you're a student ready to leave, perhaps you knew what you were doing long before coming here. Either way, it's a good place to find work, whether as a mercenary, in service to some cause, or something else altogether. Whatever your goals, motivations, and abilities, someone in here is willing to help, hire, advise, or just provide information.

The prologue will serve as a way to figure out where you're going and what you're doing without walls of text or too much waffling. Rather than being divided into turns, it'll be handled more fluidly, with actions resolved whenever available. There will be no experience granted, and many actions will require no rolls. The prologue will end when people have a good idea of where they're going to go to actually do stuff.

Go looking for some Captain of the Guard or something.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Inquire various guards about possible bounties to collect, if not, opportunities to strike out against the chaos beyond the walls of Earthhaven.

Look for some jobs.
[Auto-Success] You find yourself in the elite operative coordination hub of a kingdom under threat from all sides. You're pretty sure this place is made of jobs.

Go looking for some Captain of the Guard or something.
[3] You find some lesser mercenary captain who gives you his pitch.

"Looking for adventure? Excitement? The chance to save the world from the blackest horrors of the night, without too much danger involved? The Black Briar Weasels are the company for you! We handle contracts out in some of the fens near Blighthaven in the west. They mostly need patrols to watch out for major movements and sweep out regions of the odd wandering corpse. Sometimes we even get paid in the rubies they're so famous for."

Visit my... friends, in the unused basement levels. Inquire about employment.
[5] Your... friends have some work for you, if you want it. They need... questionable materials from... unusual sources. Not just one or two pieces, though- they're talking an agent up north, where the land has turned red and desolate. Certain demons are known to be fire-attuned, which as you might expect makes certain parts or products from them quite fascinating to the sort of circles you hang out in.

Inquire various guards about possible bounties to collect, if not, opportunities to strike out against the chaos beyond the walls of Earthhaven.
[5] From what you've heard, most bounties are on rampaging beast-things in the east or demons in the north. The east is particularly good for bounties because it's an enchanted forest rather than an arid wasteland, and thus some people still try to live near it without a military fortification between them, or even enter into its outskirts to make money. Many of the creatures there are also fantastic-looking or have unusual properties, so there's a fairly constant demand even when they're not actively mauling villagers or corrupting guards.

Search for a job that involves killing the abominations
[Auto-Success] You're going to have to be waaaaaaaay more specific about "abominations."

Look for some mercenary work, or failing that, go to the nearest inn.

Tarok took the bird out of its pouch, and used his necromancy to raise it then putting it on his shoulder, and saying "Stay there until I give further orders." He then goes off to look for a job.

Look for some mercenary work, or failing that, go to the nearest inn.
[3] Intent on finding vague work, you locate a different lesser mercenary captain. He handles an unusual area- Earthhaven itself. While most dangers pale in comparison to what lurks outside the kingdom, there are still dangers and problems internally. Usually that means guarding merchant caravans, but sometimes he gets called in to hunt down minor incursions that slipped through or escort someone who just wants to be safe getting from one area to another.

Tarok took the bird out of its pouch, and used his necromancy to raise it then putting it on his shoulder, and saying "Stay there until I give further orders." He then goes off to look for a job.
[6] Well, having an undead bird on your shoulder is sort of like being a necromancer pirate, so it kind of makes sense when someone in dark studded leather and an eyepatch offers you work plundering necromantic components in the undead-infested west. A lot of it's for their own use, but they do get buyers, especially for more unique wares.

"In constant demand..." Garied thought as he listened to one last guard, on this, Garied decides to ask about for any information on the beasts and demons, specifically a library or archive of sorts that he could use in preparation for his future hunts.
