2574 AD, Humanities new DawnBackstory:
A project undertaken almost 400 years ago is one of the only surviving artifacts of the now called 'old' world. Not long after the projects completion nuclear war ravaged the planet, killing almost all humans, and changing animals and plants both that were left above ground. With the nuclear winter that followed, humanity became no more then savage beasts, fighting tooth and nail to survive. Technology was no longer up kept, and often torn apart to make swords and building supplies.
The project was an attempt to make a clone-creating AI, named ACT (artificial creation technology) it succeeded, but the facility lost power, and as the nuclear winter raged, it's solar generators were buried from the sun and sky until now. The scientists final work before the end was to input all knowledge of medicines, technologies, and everything else that has been discovered and created that makes humanity what it is. The AI, realizing that it would lose it's primary power-source, connected itself to a thermal-generator, and a surveillance network. Since the nuclear winter it has been waiting and watching on 1% of it's power, until the above-world would become ripe for humanity to emerge once more.
Today is the day you are born, and today is the day that ACT has determined is correct for humanity to re-take the Earth.
Setting:
The earth has changed drastically, the radiation had enormous effects on wildlife and plant-life while the ground was moved by fighting and weather. Pockets of humans still live, but have become little more then what they were in the dark ages. However the ACT facility was closed and kept safe for you, it is equipped with devices designed to quickly reform metals and plastics into technology made straight from the workers mind. Along with minimal armories, hydroponic farms, medical rooms, labs and solar generators. Everything is in abysmal condition, after sitting for centuries, and there is no source of raw material or food inside the facility.
RTD Rules:
1d6 is used for general actions, affected by skills.
other dice will be used in combat, with attack rolled first, then dodge, then armor. the dice used are dependent of the item, but dodge is always 1d6 modified by skill.
Wounds are more serious then in other rtd's, with impairment that continues while it heals, and healing occurs slowly without items or special treatment.
Additionally a addition of my own idea: Basic turns encompass 1 hour of time. Combat turns encompass 10 minutes of time, so 6 combat turns=1 normal turn. In the case of less then all characters being in combat, then multiple actions will be taken each combat turn to keep the whole thing moving for all players.
Skills:
These of course vary greatly in design and usage, but for all
each level of skill takes the level*10 exp to adavance.
So crafting 1 takes 10 exp, but each level starts at 0/X so level 10 takes 100 exp and the previous levels of exp.
Level's Effects
1-no bonus given, but critical failures are less likely to harm you.
2- +1 on the event of a roll of 1
3-+1 on rolls of 1 and 2
4-+1 on all rolls except 6
5-+1 on all rolls
6-+2 on 1, +1 on all other rolls
7-+2 on 1,2,3 +1 on 4,5,6
8-+2 on all rolls
9-+3 on 1,2 +2 on 3,4,5,6
10-+3 on all rolls
You do have some advanced technology like energy based weaponry at your disposal, so don't be afraid to experiment on the limits of skills you can have. Plus inventing is always a possibility.
