Fucking with Adware

Apparently, my sisters in their Ouija board craze decided to download anything that could possibly get them to an online Ouija board.

Well obviously this downloaded unwanted adware from "Playpickle". I'm not sure if it was automatic or not since I wasn't there, so unless you're on a computer you don't care about or you have some mystic solution (in which case do post it so I can get this shit out of the system), I wouldn't advise visiting that site. Not that Playpickle is a very attractive name in the first place. It almost sounds like some fucked up porn (It isn't thank god).

In any case I really want this off my system since it highlights words and links me to relevant Playpickle games. Including words that you guys write. But mostly, if I can, I'd like to fuck with the adware a little bit and see if I can't have some fun with this.

Any advice on getting rid of/ fucking around with this thing?

Well, step one of this stuff is usually to determine what the program is. So go into task manager and look for anything that appears strange. End its task and see if that turns off the adware's effects. Then, restart the computer and look at the properties of the program. That will tell you the file location. Delete the files in the file location. Restart. If it's still there, run regedit and use the file name to find the adware's registry entry, and delete that, then delete the files, then restart. If it still shows up after that....I haven't the faintest fucking idea of how its still functioning.

You haven't really provided much information. Do you have an antivirus/antimalware software package in place? If so, which one?

As a general rule, on computers that multiple people use, you cannot trust the other people to not hideously screw things up, so restrictive policies and a good security package can be pretty important... and regular backups of anything that's important (or simply never keep anything important there to begin with). For that matter, if it's "your system", then why are your sisters installing so much software on it?
