Wow. Now the mystery of what the creators look like will be solved forever.

Very nice article. Thanks for digging this up, syllogism.

Yeah, congratulation guys !

Of course, on the board, it is Tarn we see the most. And most of our thoughts go to him.
But, yes, we should definitely not forget that Bay12games is a team ! And that Zack's shadow is lurking in most corners of DF design.

Good work guys !

Good read, but there were some problems. Like releasing a new build every week - I wish! And the screenshot on the second page was a bad one, it has 1-wide corridors, something you do NOT want to have newbies believe is the right way.

Behold! The true face of The Great One

At least I suppose that's him. There's probably not that many Tarn Adams's in Texas, especially not professors of mathematics.

And cool, they're playing Go in that pic. I love that game, just wish I'd have more time to play and people to play with. It just takes too long to get any hang of it, and I haven't had time to play a single game in 6 months, so I probably couldn't beat anyone anymore. I did play a game or two every day some years ago.

Shared tables (2 or more chairs to a table) are terrible for greedy dwarves' thoughts, as well... They want room for their meals and arms!

Floodgates open into what seems to be the main hallway, growing tower caps that will eventually block it.

The traps should also be placed further up from the door and closer to the bridge, and the bridge widened - or at least have safety rails (flanking, secondary bridges) installed.

THIS. IS. DWARF FORTRESS.

Come on people, I never claimed I was a PRO, just an ADDICT.  I just used a screenshot from one of 12 games I had in progress.

Glad y'all enjoyed it.

A ground-breaking achievement in Dwarf Fortress history; major attention from a magazine, and we're sitting here scoffing at the preview fort's qualities! XD

One day when Dwarf Fortress is as well known as the most major of commercial games, I'll be sitting here like "Yeah. I played it back when." Just because. =)

The article itself was great.  Ignore our commentary on the fortress' quality lol.

I like the way of making the interface comprehensible to people who havent spent forever learning it yet.
