The only other visible soldier is sitting at the campsite with our target. You'd alert them both with a shot.

It is just scouting. To some, it means "observe and report." to others, it means "sneak up and kill everybody." Lets just get out of here.

I do have to point out that they wouldn't wear segmented armour and mail together. It would be one or the other.


Also, the only ones wearing segmented would be legionaries. Which means these guys would be deserters.

Tell the bowman to try to get a headshot on one while you do so on the other. Aim for the head! Afterwards, steal the roman armor and disguise yourselves as romans.

For what purpose? If these guys are deserters, they know each other well enough that they'll know you aren't one of them, and they'll kill you.

If they aren't deserters, and you arrive without your century, they'll assume you are deserters, and kill you.

Well no, this is just a handful of soldiers. I think we should circle round and try and spot the main camp, so at least we know where it is...

You decide it would be best to avoid these Romans and their strange armor, which is likely cursed by the Gods. You circle around the small camp through the bushes and manage to get a considerable distance away from the camp when you see 3 more men off to the distance. They have regular chain mail armor on and are carrying spears, they must be headed to the camp in the clearing. Somehow, your brother was split off from you and now you are both on either side of these soldiers. You can no longer see the sun because of cloud cover, you think it will rain soon. Will you avoid these soldiers as well, or will you continue onwards to the larger encampment (which you believe is very near)?
