Time Lords?

From toady's dev blog a few weeks ago:

Does this mean that, though the bug was fixed, it is going to be possible to mod in timelords?

Even if it wasn't fixed, the version hasn't come out yet. So it is not possible to mod in timelords in the current version.

I doubt it. Unless someone hacks into DF's core code, possibly definitely causing other !!FUN!! bugs.

Wait. WHAT? I thought open-sourced meant you had access to the ENTIRE code. Isn't this game open-sourced or am I very mistaken?

You are quasi mistaken...  Kobold Camp was opensourced to allow a few problems with the gui to be fixed (if memory serves correctly)  The raws are open source since they are just text files.  The program code though is closed.  All the utilities out there use memory hacks to and other magic to do things.

I've had Dorf's wh ohave pulled a Monty Python's Black Knight. They've had limbs chopped off and just keep coming. Although most of those are my patented "Spartan Dwarfs."

Oh. That could ruin some projects I had for this week. Possibly. I'm not entirely sure since the only way I edit stuff in the raws is: "copy weird words, paste weird words. Yeah it works!"

Depending on what your project was, you might look at DFhack, and see how it manipulates things, or Dwarf Therapist.  Or for that matter, anything else on the wiki utilities page.  They all do memory read's, writes, and you can change somethings that way.   Its limited, but it might meet your needs.

I doubt it because I needed the info on miasma and from what I hear that's not opensource so that project is pretty much screwed because It was riding on that.

Can't you use syndromes and boiling and stuff tu simulate miasma?
...Not that I understan how thth syndrome stuff is working...
