Hey there. I'm wanting to embark on a map that has a plain of trees and grass and general being-flat-ness but meets a sheer cliff face where i can build into it. In a perfect world, the sheer cliff face would have a volcano in it for simple "oh shit heres lots of baddies, open the side of the volcano and flood the bastards" mechanisms.

I'm an utter novice in world gen, so if someone could help I'd be happy!

Accoro, its not so much world generation as it is checking elevation levels(Map on far left, with shades of blue), and elevation map( brighter colors on other map on far left) that shows steepness in elevation changes while you are on preembark screen.

As far as large, straight, uniform cliff faces go, they're sort of rare. In my opinion your best bet would be to embark on a half mountain biome/ half forest biome and just carve out the cliff you'd like.

I think you can tweak the world gen parameters to get more volcanoes but I don't know how.

alter min number of volcanoes in the advanced parameters...be prepared for many rejections if you set it too high tho. (that's just how i do it...probably more efficient ways)
