The US definitely needs someone at the moment, since currently the only player is away for a few days. Japan is also sitting at 1 person (me), but honestly I quite like getting to be the almighty emperor of Japan manage it myself.  :P

Always good to have more PRC leaders around!

The list as far as I can tell:

USA:
Sirius

Japan:
DemonofWrath

PRC:
Yodamaster
Knave
RedKing

EU:
Sheb
Thranx
Azkul

Was posted earlier, and no one corrected him, though there may have been changes since. I should probably list players in the OP.

And yeah, the player for the US is currently MIA, if you want to take over for them.

Dammit dammit dammit  :o

No, please don't delete the US. My laptop started crashing horribly, and it took a while to get everything working again. I'm talking BSODs on boot, here. I'm sorry that I couldn't get on for a few days, it shouldn't happen again.

So anyway, (late) orders:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think that's it, and I'd like to apologize once again for delaying the game. Next time, just assume I have no new orders. If that screws me over, then it's my own damn fault  :P

Actually, there was a bit of tension at the start. You remember when the US had an head start and was claiming stuff left and right and I had to send in military ship to break their claim. Of course I could have said "Mercury is mine" and go to war, but other nations would have turned against me. And the PRC would have taken the spoils. And since the US forgot their claim, there was no war.

However, the EU totally intend to lay claim to one of the neighboring system.

No new orders regarding construction, but I'm pretty sure that the current queue will last a least another year. If Bremen insists, I'll re-post it here.

Yes, as I've stated several times, please only give direct orders. I run the turns from the templates, I don't want to have to dig through the (28 pages and growing) thread just to find out what the previous orders were.

Yes, there was tension at the start, which all completely disappeared when the "no one can claim planets in the solar system" rule was pushed through.

In that case, I'll sign up for the US, starting next turn.

Everything's fine, nobody's doing anything wrong. I just want everybody to keep in mind that while peace may be good for your faction short term, war should help long term. More importantly, it makes for a good story. But yes, right now if I was playing, I would also be avoiding going to war at this point in time. So I'm not complaining, just voicing my concerns about how the game would wind up boring. I was worried there wouldn't be any friction since the aliens aren't strong enough to weaken a player and there's more than enough land giving no reason to fight over it. My lack of knowledge on Aurora left me unawares of the big fuel crunch that's happening which meant I was understimating how much friction there actually is between you guys. This is great, it means the issue I was having was never an issue in the first place.

Now I'm dying to see what happens next. Nothing at all could happen and it would still be cool as hell.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

@ Breman: I figured you had the queue all ready to go in Aurora  ???

Oh well, I edited my orders in the previous post.

Oh, and I'd be glad to have you, Burnt Pies  :)

I don't usually queue all production orders up in-game. Some orders, like shipyards, don't take a queue, and others like ship orders usually get changed and aren't worth laying out for multiple years. In the case of factory construction, if factories are building one thing and orders say to start on another, I just shove whatever they're currently working on down the queue so progress isn't lost; whenever I get a construction finished message I check the orders and make sure the right thing gets built next.

Additionally, it's just generally easier on me to have clear and direct construction orders.

Edit: Doing the turn now, and I remembered another reason I do it this way. I often get orders like "use 30% production on a, b, and c, and another 30% on x, y, and z" which the queue doesn't work for.

Actually, I'm going to call a halt to this turn until I get some clarified orders.

EU: A civilian jump drive for a 10,000 ton ship can only jump itself. Is this what you want?

US: The military drive you specify would take over five years to research. Are you sure?

(it would actually be 2000 fewer RP to develop jump drive efficiency 4 and then the same jump drive, and the drive would also be smaller)

No, it's not what we want. What's the smaller JD that can take other ships with it?

I didn't think it would take so long. That bites.

Ok, new plan. Please make this ship and jump drive:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After that, go ahead and do jump efficiency 4 and work on the larger jump drive. This "Invincible" class will be a stop-gap measure.

17,000 tons. The drive itself weighs 7,500 tons.

Edit: For commercial, that is. The smallest multi-ship military drive at efficiency 3 is 2,250 tons.

Please wait a bit, I'm finishing writing up my own game, and I'll solve that. How much time woud it take for a 10,000 Military JD?
