1) Geneva Security Accords: No armed conflict within 25 million km of Earth until 2050. This shouldn't cover any other planets, but does include the moon.

They've still got weapons.

But we're horribly evil and ignore the Geneva Security Accords. Also the Geneva Convention. Torturing scientists for technology = valid excuse for Bremen SMing everyone's research to us  :P.

In such a hypothetical case, the US would likely support Japan. War to defeat the stinking commies defend the helpless Japanese!  ;D

We would stay out of the conflict, then shoot any survivng vessels outside the exclusion zone and grab everybody's mines.

I might point out no one has troop bays yet :P

Incidentally, I was inspired to do this by similar games the creator of Aurora did on the forums. One game had China invading Japan, precipitating a full scale nuclear war that ended up causing so much radiation Earth had to be abandoned (other than a few million lucky evacuees). Humanity had to rebuild from its off-planet colonies :P

That was the inspiration for the Security Accords, by the way.

No war on Earth. I actually expected it to encourage conflict, since nations can fight over other planets with no real risk to their home economy.

I actually think the reason it's been so peaceful so far is having four nations; no one wants to act hostile lest the other three ally against them. A 3 nation game might have been much more unstable.

Nation A attacks B
C intervenes because they don't want to see A get uber powerful.
D waits until the others are weak and profits from neutrality :P
