Conflict for the sake of conflict solves nothing :/

Fighting will probably break out sooner or later. Right now there's not much to fight about.

NO, YOU MUST ADHERE TO RACIAL STEREOTYPES AND FIGHT YOUR OLD CULTURAL ENEMIES!

Or not, whatever floats your boat. I'm just saying that constant peace is going to get real boring real fast.

If I do this again, I'm thinking 3 nations instead of 4. Three is a deliciously unstable number. With the treaty exclusion zone, there isn't much worth fighting over until offworld colonies are developed. I'll be making the updates longer to try and bring that about sooner.

Sure, bring module in whatever form you want.

As for conflict, well, we already have some friction about claims and espionage. Nothing worth fighting so far, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a US/Japan coalition ganging on the PRC to increase their industrial might for exemple.

I am game for the idea of terraforming Mercury, I do however think that if we do we should postpone our plans for terraforming Mars.

One thing that we should all remember is that aurora is designed by someone who is quote "an evil bastard" and that that in aurora the universe is very much out to get you and has greater numbers, better tech and a generally homicidal attitude so even if no major conflict between the main players arises the game will get "fun" soon enough and against some of "fun" things in this game even a full alliance of all players working in perfect tandem will only slow the "fun" down, maybe for as much as 45 seconds of game time

Edit: lets just say that this game has its equivalents of the DF hell and forgotten beasts and in this game they can appear as soon as you make your first jump out of the Solar System

Forsaken, what are your thoughts on current production and our possible treaty with Sheb?

EDIT: Thranx said it best, I think. It's a nasty, uncaring universe out there, and we could be up to our necks in death and destruction with our first jump. Might as well stand together as much as possible  :)

As far as a treaty under which the US grants the EU colonization rights to Mercury in return for the EU's support in terraforming Mercury I agree with my fellow member of the EU High Command in supporting such a action. I would however like to add a terraforming technology sharing agreement under-which we would research faster terraforming and share the tech with the US in exchange for orbital terraforming tech.

I would also like to proposed that all nations agree not build any jump gates leading to Sol untill the system on the other side as been COMPLETELY explored and or cleared

Edit: Also thanks again to Brenden for continuing to SM the game I think that at this point we have got farther than any other LP multi player game I have seen.

Edit Looking toward the future here is my proposal for the next set of moves by the EU:

I'd like to ask why our military command forgot to train up our Armor Cadre into Heavy Assault Divisions.

I think we should start moving automated mines and infrastructures to mercury. And build a couple of mass driver.

They didn't. The first one just hasn't finished yet :P

Edit: Err, correction 1 is finished and one is in progress. Looks like I forgot to update it.

I support this. We should make it a formal international treaty. The Thranx Directive, perhaps? The PRC would be happy to sign this.

Also, Knave, perhaps we should start looking into mining colonies ourselves? Although we have the most production capacity it'd be a shame if we didn't have the resources to utilize it.

Production orders: Begin constructing automated mines (50 or so) and 2 mass drivers.

I think my illustrious equals in the EU misinterpreted my offer. Yes, I'm offering co-colonization rights on Mercury (because there's no way we'll just pack up and leave :P ), but it's in return for terraforming vessels which would be transferred to US control, to use as we please. I was under the impression that at least one of you guys had developed ship-bound terraforming modules. Installations built in factories require population to run, which requires (a lot of) infrastructure and colony ships.

However, since we're already working on increased production, we could switch those trades around (we develop increased production, you guys build the ordbiting terraformers).

The US also pledges to follow the Thranx Directive.

Oh, I was under the assumption that you were offering joint colonization and terraforming of Mercury. I think we cannot accept your offer: Space is open to all and we cannot leave any country claim all the prime spot.
