Oh hey, I found a way to build fighters directly into a carrier's hangar. Not only does this eliminate the need to manually assign each one, but it also gets rid of the "alien ship detected" message.  8)

Awesome!

Sorry I haven't been around, have plans most of this weekend so I will be scarce.

I'm on vacation now and probably will be for about a week. Sorry I didn't mention this before I left. Luckily, Knave seems to have picked up administration of the PRC. Remember, Knave, no compromising with the Americans. We're superior. When I headed out this thread was 2 pages long, I'm glad to see that it's growing so quickly.

Oh no! Without party leader Yodamaster that means I'm directly responsible for all of the PRC's failings. I'll try not too disappoint and have fun on the vacay!

But you're also responsible for all of the successes  ;D. Thanks, honestly there's not a lot to do around here at my Grandma's house, so I'll probably be able to be on at least once a day. You probably know more about Aurora than me anyway. Right now I'm catching up on what's been going on. Looks like the Americans are in the lead. If anything comes to mind I'll edit this with orders.

August 15th

The United States, Japan, China, and EU all stake claims on Mars. The US claims Venus, Deimos, and Io. Emboldened by their advanced engines, Japan also stakes a claim on Titan, despite the fact that no manned craft has ever been so far from Earth.

The US begins transporting automated mines to Mercury.

Japan finalizes designs for the Yubari class Colony ship. Though smaller than those designed by other nations, it is much faster

Code: [Select]
Yubari class Colony Ship    19,750 tons     211 Crew     755 BP      TCS 395  TH 500  EM 0
1265 km/s     Armour 1-65     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/1/0/0     Damage Control Rating 1     PPV 0
Maint Capacity 24 MSP    Max Repair 25 MSP
Colonists 50000    Cargo Handling Multiplier 5

Nuclear Pulse Engine E0.8 (5)    Power 100    Fuel Use 8%    Signature 100    Armour 0    Exp 1%
Fuel Capacity 100,000 Litres    Range 113.9 billion km   (1041 days at full power)

This design is classed as a Commercial Vessel for maintenance purposes

China decides it can spare the funds to begin upgrading its infantry to modern technology.

August 20th

China completes production of supplies for a domed colony on Mars, to be delivered when freighters are available.

August 30th

Japan completes work on a military shipyard.

Septermber 10th

American scientists develop technology for a laser with a 10cm lens.

September 25th

The European Union completes a new Illustrious frigate, and also refits its first Victory to a Warlock class.

October 5th

Japan completes construction of a Kobayashi Maru class freighter

October 20th

China completes training of a new Espionage agent, and creates a team to attempt to steal technology from Japan.

October 21st

The US completes transport of 14 automated mines to mercury, further mines have not yet finished construction.

November 1st

The US builds a second Raptor class survey craft, and detaches another carrier and escorts to form a 2nd Survey Fleet and look for mineral resources in the asteroid belt.

November 11th

The EU completes conversion of 50 new Ordinance factories.

December 26th

China completes construction of a new Ground Force Training Facility, which will aid in modernizing its infantry.

It also completes construction of a Houjian class freighter, which begins transporting infrastructure to Mars.

December 31st

The European Union completes the refit of their second Warlock class.

The PRC is interested in a joint research effort with the EU. We wish to stabilize our economy further before committing our industry for over a year to build the 4 labs though. (Perhaps after the end of year summary when I have a better idea of how our financial boost is working out?)

The EU would like to make it clear that unlike the construction deal we understand that labs are a expensive and long term commitment thus we would
only expect you to commit 250-400 factories to the production of the labs leaving you with a several hundred  factories with which to continue the construction of financial centers and as the EU will provide the entire funding for the project (9600 mega credits) as well as 25% of the minerals (2400 Duranium and 2400 Mercassium) the construction will not increase your deficit. Once the labs are completed we will each take two making you have equal research with the US .

Let us start by making 2 labs this year and we will each take home 1. That will take the better portion of the year most likely but we will both have something to show for it at the end of it.

Fixed the picture links. I probably wont do a lot, particularly since screenshots of Aurora aren't much more than numbers anyways, but it was requested.

And no worries if you wont be available, that's why I didn't want just one person controlling each side. This way the thread doesn't end up waiting for any one person (except me :P).

btw, if players give long term orders I can probably run turns a year at a time, since nothing much seems to be happening now.

PRC

New Ship Proposal:
We have an unused 10k dock just sitting there so I purpose a new, miniature colony ship to expedite the process of living on Mars. (Tried to make it to PRC tech, feel free to edit in any way)

Code: [Select]
Project 13 class Colony Ship    9,450 tons     128 Crew     343 BP      TCS 189  TH 188  EM 0
994 km/s     Armour 1-39     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/1/0/0     Damage Control Rating 1     PPV 0
Maint Capacity 23 MSP    Max Repair 16 MSP
Colonists 20000    Cargo Handling Multiplier 5

Nuclear Thermal Engine E1 (3)    Power 62.5    Fuel Use 10%    Signature 62.5    Armour 0    Exp 1%
Fuel Capacity 50,000 Litres    Range 95.2 billion km   (1108 days at full power)

This design is classed as a Commercial Vessel for maintenance purposes

A quarter of the Size of the Xian and only 1/5 of the carrying capacity, this vessel will take advantage of the dock already built while minimizing needed resources.

Hope that was long-term enough!

Truth be told I was a little nervous about the 9600 mega-credit price tag after all the EU financial reserves are vast but not infinite
Thus I agree to the plan to make 2 labs this year.
I will have my technocrats transfer the need 4800 mega-credits and 1200 Duranium and 1200 Mercassium necessary for our share of the project as soon as you are ready to begin production

P.S. Does the PRC have plans to terraform Mars? if so we should cooperate on that as well and possibly bring in Japan as terraforming Mars is a project that will require a large amount international cooperation if we plan to complete the project any time with in the next few decades.

The EU's orders (subject to change as other members of the High Command weigh in)

I'll say that I've no problems in helping terraform Mars long-term

What's the current state of my production, it seems I've got mass drivers when I was sure I wouldn't of had them yet

The last orders I have for you were to finish the shipyard, then build 6 mass drivers, then build 6 infrastructure. That's the path I've been following so far.

Ahh you're right the 6 mass drivers were before the 100 infrastructure, I'd forgotten and thought it was the other way round.

I slightly edited the orders. I'd suggest we put all change in bold and in color, so we know who ordered what. I'll claim red.

On another note, I believe we should invest most of our assets into mercury. It is an harsh planet, but relatively easy to colonize, as it's easier to cool a planet than warm it up.
